One of my film school tutors would talk about a film he saw where they didn't put in the letter boxing and he could see the boom mics etc. throughout the film.

Travis really did get gaslighted here

Between this and the other video I was shocked to realize how much time I spend on IMDB. I guess not everyone reads the Goofs as often as I do, because this aspect ratio cropping stuff happens all the time; that it could sound so insane to someone as to be genuinely unbelievable is mindblowing.

This happens a lot though? like, that is the reason you never see a non-theatrical screen version of the '71 Willy Wonka, because if you do you can see, like, the air hose they used for the Violet Blueberry scene.

Its a real thing, Travis is not insane.

aint this why if u watch shrek 2 in a certain format u can see a guy fall off a ladder in the distance in the scene where theyre setting up for the wedding or whatever
  • @TissueCat
This happened when I went to see The Happening, and it actually improved the movie if anything.

i just want to say that the fake Dewey from Malcolm in the Middle was just another kid. as someone who never saw Malcolm in the Middle, that picture really confused me; like, "i don't get it. what's the problem?"
  • @BobHoss4
do you have a clip of the original Travis' Museum Nights Memories ?
  • @salmffron2003
Wait so IS open matting a real thing?? Gaaaaaah why did I quit my video production class?!
  • @blake..-
Ok I still refuse to believe it.. I’ve seen the clips and the wikipedia… but that is so fucking ludicrous that this is a thing lmao
  • @jojorofo
Is there any link that exists to that dewey picture mentioned in the video?
  • @Preach202
Shocks me that they worked on a tv show and didnt know what open matting was.
  • @maicey_t.
The Malcolm in the Middle thing is real though?? I'm so confused, do the McElroy's really think this kind of thing doesn't happen?
