Jockey Sam Thompson Tribute

Jockey Sam Thompson died December 25th after suffering massive injuries when the horse he was riding went down after the wire. I did not know Sam well, but remember him with fondness. He was a very kind person, one day when I got "spun" by a rider at the gap to the track, Sam came over and said " Well, give me a leg up" with a big smile. My heart goes out to his girlfriend, family and friends. I bet Brian Long is up there talking his ear off right now ;-). God Bless and God Speed, Sam. You WILL be remembered. A special thanks to Dave and the rest of the crew in the Broadcast Center at Los Alamitos for allowing this moving tribute up for all to see.

I just came across this video tribute to Sam what a wonderful job they did comemorating what he loved. He and I went to High School together and if there was one thing that he loved it was racing horses. I am so glad he got to live his dream!
