  • Awesome job with the two-part series on cleaning this carb for this popular generator! I had a little old gas from two years ago and didn't realize I needed to drain the bowl after the season when storing the unit. I had the problem where it only runs when choked. I had to clean out the jet, emulsion tube and bowl to remove the blockage (likely from varnish). I didn't even bother disconnecting the hoses. Just removed the air filter unit (1 bolt and 2 nuts) and pulled it to the side. I put a larger spring clamp (like for wood working) on the fuel tube to pinch off the gas and removed only the bolt holding the bowl to the carb (from the bottom). That provided the access to remove and clean the parts like he describes. I'm back in action! Load test with the 15 amp AC unit worked perfectly as it did originally. Thank you!

Thanks. Very helpful. Seems I had a clogged main jet, probably from not emptying the bowl when putting the generator in storage.

Thank you very much, finally a video that helped me solve a common problem, erratic idling in Eco w little to no load. Many reports don't address the low speed jet located just under the Eco module on top of the carb. Video 2 covers it nicely and after all my efforts to no avail, this video helped me fix the problem. Thank you

Thanks! Just used your video to get my 1000 up and running again. It was a lot of help.
  • After carb rebuild and several do overs, replace carb , twice, I checked the in tank fuel filter , cleaned the filter , was not satisfied, so left it out in reassembly, after year and half of working on it it runs great for first time since buying it.
  • @notwrkn2mch
I use your video everytime i need to clean the carb...... thanks so much

My EU1000 is a bit different. The air filter housing doesn't have that simple bolt to take it off. It appears to be one piece with the entire shroud. Looks difficult to remove.
  • @tblbaby
don't have the generator, just watch your vids because you do some of the very best in the place and learn a lot from them

Hello I broke the adjustment screw on the side of the carburetor and bought a replacement one is the adjustment like bottom and turn and quarter out. The needle is poking in the carb a little and don't known if its right. thanks

I use copper wire strands as well, softer than brass :-) Then i use a jewlers magnifier to inspect the holes, especially the emulsion tube ones, so tiny.
  • @larrywebb8309
Can you buy a replacement spring and emulator tube if it goes flyin and gets lost? Thanks
  • @danpearson8257
did as the video showed and it started OK, but would not  work right without 1/2 choke? thoughts  repeat process?  Dan
  • @apsghostseeker
u did not need to take the top white govener off the carb just to clean it, i left mine on and it whent alot smoother. just saying. :)
  • @Mitreelek
Yes i fixed it one of the jets was still plugged !!!
  • @PeteLeonardi
Nice video, but be aware that is not necessary to remove the throttle control motor from the top of the carb. Removing it unnecessarily complicates the process, and  if you loose that little spring, you are in trouble. Everything you show can be done with the motor left on the carb.
  • Hi sixtyfiveford don't know if you still monitor this thread but if you do I could use some help. I'm having an issue with the eco throttle after performing this carb rebuild {eco throttle was working fine before}... When I flip the eco throttle switch nothing happens and the generator is always running wide open as if eco throttle is not engaged. Any ideas about what to look for or how to fix this issue?? I also performed a full tune up.
