  • Been playing guitar since 1973. Everyday and night. I can't even hope to play this well. I don't envy. Play on young prodigy.

I have to revisit this video from time-to-time... lifts my soul...

There are guitar players, and then there are guitarists! Well done. Truly gifted.
  • What's astonishing is not just the technical perfection but the musical intelligence. In every sense, it is a performance of startling wonder. It leaves you dazed and dazzled.

The combination of music dept. at Butler and your hard work have really made you into a fantastic musician. This piece really shows the maturity you've developed. Wonderful son!

In ten seconds I went from guitar-player to guitar-owner....

Not just a great performance, not just technically excellent, but probably most strikingly, this is truly original. Blues leans on the same licks rearranged differently. As much as I love the blues - all kinds of blues, this was different in a very important way: it was not predictable. It was fresh. Thank you for bringing something new to the blues.

I now at 76 years old have two awesome guitar faves, Martin Taylor and Josh Turner. Both very different souls but their music has that really pure acoustic finger style genius that is so very very rare. Josh your music is bringing so much pleasure to a grey world, be proud, and so many people are waiting for a purchasable download of your 60s cover versions. Smile, you are awesome! ❤

This guy plays like I wish I could, and I have been playin a long time!!!  What talent, and his song choices across the board resonate with my inner open chord!  Hats off to you, young man.  Keep the flame of soulful acoustic artistry and meaningful lyrics alive for the next generation!

"KIng Kong Goes to Tallahassee, goes a little somethin' like this..." nailed it :). thanks for sharing.
  • 612 people are apparently idiots! How could anyone "dislike" this? You're talented beyond your years. Incredible expression and tone.

Here in Uruguay, there is a very used phrase, which is something like: "Éste tipo entendió todo." And it translates something like: "This guy understood everything." We use it when we mean that person knows what he does. He really knows what he's doing. I've heard this a hundred times. Really. And it is tremendous. Thanks Josh!

When I saw the title of this song I got my guitar and wanted to see if I might play along. About 10 seconds into the video I put my guitar back into the case from which it came.
  • Legend has it, the devil sold his soul to get guitar lessons from this guy.
  • Josh seems to effortlessly hit each note with the characteristics that tell you how much he puts into his craft. Really dig when he teams up with Larkin. Gifted kids cheer me up!
  • What is actually crazy about this is if you watch this young man enough, he continues to improve where there seems to be no room for improvement. Really enjoy the ones with Larkin's sweet voice accompanying.

The Martin says, Josh, I'm so glad to have a friend like you who brings out the best in me.

Anyone who listens to Bruce Cockburn will recognize this piece. Very well reproduced!
  • I remember stumbling upon this video on late 2018, and here I am listening to Josh and Carson practically every single day since then. I've never been more thankful to the algorithm for introducing me to such blissful musicians.
