Just so everyone knows. The 4 wheel drive was working. However without both front shafts(we removed the broken one) the LOCKERS wouldn't engage because of a damaged ABS sensor so no power would go to the passenger front. That was why it was technically in 2 wheel drive. The front driveline was spinning, but it had nowhere to go missing one of the front axle shafts.

No idea how that guy expected to do Pritchett in that thing. Know your rig, know your gear and know your experience level and evaluate before doing something stupid. Enough internet bashing - Glad the guy was able to call for help, glad Rory was able to help. Nobody got hurt. It was a learning experience. Hopefully future adventures are safer and more successful.

These monsoon microburst storms can be terrifying, especially in a boat on Lake Powell or in a canyon. Rory and Shawn stay calm, focused, ride out the rain and complete the recovery in style. Total pros. Kudos!

Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night shall stay team trailmater from their appointed duties.!

3 years ago I got into the offroad community with friends that knew what they were doing. We had a Pre-Moab meeting 6 months before the trip. Most had been there more than once. When it came to scheduling trail days Pritchett was the 1st day. The leader without hesitation pointed at me and said "you're not doing Pritchett". Didn't hurt my feelings at all. He knew my skill level and so did I. Very important not to get in above your head. I have made huge strides since then and value good advise.

Rory and Shawn, you are so patient with your customer's. Wow is all I can say.

Rory and Shawn are some real OG's

Rory gave me good advice when I stop by with my Gladiator stay out of Pritchett no problem listen to the Pro. 👍

I remember those storms. It's more like a solid sheet of water coming down than raindrops. Wild. Really interesting to watch as the waterfalls formed. This was an excellent real life demo of what to do and not to do in these storms. Great vid.

I've seen them lugnuts before . It seems some people think a impact is the proper way to torque lug nuts . I prefer a torque wrench or at least a fore way lug wrench only because they don't strip or need recovered .
-
people always underestimate just how powerful water is in the desert, everything you see, the canyon itself, is because of water! if it's raining be where the water cant get to, good call Rory
-
And this video shortly after Rory's PSA, on floods, just wait it out. Great video/recovery, glad it all worked out.

I love storms in the desert! So Cool!
-
I've been changing ball joints for 50 years and have never had a ball joint come out that easy! One smack with the hammer and it flies out!
-
That little water fall getting blown back up looked like smoke . It still amazes me that the water doesn't soke into the ground. It flows across the top for miles , even snow melt can make a stream for months across the desert
-
Crazy how fast that happens

Team trailmater is incredible. In a wash or canyon is the last place you want to be in the desert during a monsoon burst. This shows to go you, know your skill level, know the ground, know your vehicle and know the weather.

I was in Moab in October 06 when it rained for days straight. There were waterfalls everywhere. So cool.
