    Beautiful combine. My father has a combine just like the one in the video plus my Uncle had a 510 Massey Ferguson when he was farming. One thing is for sure that 540 can shell the crap out of some corn. Thank you for sharing this video!!!

    It's got a silver cab which was introduced in 1979 so the combine is between 1979 and 1983. If my memory is correct 83 was the last year of the 540. The 540 was introduced in 1978 which is the only year with a red cab.

    I have a 1980 Massey 540, with 1144 corn head and 13ft grain head.

    Since you have redone MF 300 combines you already know what you have to do with the main drive ( reenforcing the drive). Somebody appreciated a good combine to take such good care of it all these years. Without the serial number i will guess a 1981.

    Hello WildcatWilly: 79 - 82 83 had the silver auger (I had an 83 550 with silver cab & auger).
