Reality is often disappointing, but you help people deal with it šŸ‘

This is soooo accurate. So many people think if they can't do everything right RIGHT NOW that they're doomed or failing. Do what you CAN right now and do more as youre able to. Im investing $200/mo right now bc that's what I CAN do. Would I feel better if I was investing $600/mo? Yes. But id feel worse if I was investing $0.

What's annoying is those gurus don't understand that a majority of people are category 1 now. Cost of living is out of control and wages aren't going up.

I don't know why but your "you got this" kind of felt something I wanted to hear right now. Thanks.

Read for more āœØ Which category do you fall into? Something thatā€™s important to noteā€”there is a difference between surviving paycheck to paycheck and simply living paycheck to paycheck. Some are doing everything they can to pinch pennies. While others are simply just overspending šŸ˜… Getting in control of your finances isnā€™t boring or stressful or unpleasant. THINKING and living as if you never have enoughā€”now that is! The more you understand the flow of your finances, the better you will feel. Watch the full video on my TikTok ā¤

Iā€™m slowly moving into category 2! Sheā€™s right. Master the art of tracking where everything is going. Budgeting or income building is pointless if you donā€™t assess your unique life first.

Yeah, if one person tells me ā€œif you stop buying coffee at coffee shops youā€™ll be able to save moneyā€ā€¦ I donā€™t buy coffee at coffee shops. And the people who say things like this are always people who donā€™t know you and make assumptions.

Every time I see Erin's videos I just instantly feel more calm and chill. The advice is genuinely useful and isn't really bringing anyone else's opinions down, it's just nice.

I do have to shout out the Money Guy podcast. They actually understand that people are in Category 1 vs 2 and 3, though they use different terms. Highly recommend them.
  • THANK YOU. I look up how to budget and it says shit like "your rent should only cost 25% of your income"???? Do people get to CHOOSE their cost of living?? šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜

I had to lower my means due to an emergency move a year ago, and a month ago i found a place that would put me back where i was at and promised so many opportunities for much much more. Then took me off the schedule for two weeks unnamounced after a meeting of yelling about things that boiled down to "im gonna break labor laws and you're not getting itnin writing" Today i did two interviews with one place and they offered me a significant raise, a much better work environment, and lots of benefits. Sometimes raising yourself up takes a while and it takes some dips, but its out there for you!

Thank you so much for breaking it down like this. I'm currently barely living from paycheck to paycheck (meaning for me that my account almost always goes negative before next payday), mainly due to having 2 roommates and sharing a car that's been in and out of the shop recently. I'm trying to get my own car, but I'm also worried about being late on payments or something similar because I don't want to wake up some morning to see the repo man taking my car. I'm doing everything I can to make career adjustments to allow for this extra monthly expense, but I feel stuck right now. However, this video made me feel much better about being where I am, and it gave me actual advice instead of being essentially, "just stop being poor", disguised as being "financial advice".

Waayyyy more people need to see this! As a bank employee it is nice to see someone post good advise.

This is so true. Those ppl on the internet be like "Start investing, put it in 401k" blah blah. Dude, most people right now are living from paycheck to paycheck. Before we even get to investing, we gotta start from the basic and build foundations.
  • @cfkay3727
This makes sense, but remeber that if you are living outside you means because you're spending too much on wants (eating out, doordash, stuff, entertainment, traveling), then you will never get to category 2, because the more you have, the more you will spend. Create a budget first and foremost with the income level you are at, then reduce your spending and increase your means.
