  • I do buy my batteries with a kit 599 for the kit. Keep the battery and sell the mower for 350-450 and you end up getting a battery for a couple hundred dollars. I sold the lawnmower because I already have one.

Great information on extending battery life. I own an Ego power station and several tools. I'm going to make some changes in storage and charging. Thanks.
  • Love all the tip and really love that now that this video is out, your able to now educate the new generation of people who are going to youtube to see about these new machines and the battery’s that power them, i can tell you 7-8 years ago, we didn’t have anything like this and nw we have a treasure trove, always a great video my friend a nd keep on going and making even more and more awesome videos

One of the biggest factors in EGO battery health is the battery temp. Charging indoors after resting has made a huge improvement in my batteries performance.
  • @AppleFanX2
Excellent video Al!!! A wealth of information. Thanks so much. Lindsay 🔋

I bought two Ego weed Wackers, I liked the first one so I bought another kit because I needed a extra battery and it was smart for me to get a new weed Wacker than a battery by itself.
  • Some great information here. I wish I had watched it when I bought my mower. Keep up the good work.
  • @CF542
Great video filled with great information. I fell in love with Ego several years ago and still have my original 7.5 battery and funny enough, it is lasting longer than my newer fuel gauged 7.5. I always store then indoors and try to follow the charging methods you outlined. The 2.5 batteries are getting fairly worn out these days and don't last too long in the trimmer like they used to.
  • @JDye-youtube
Great tips on maintaining battery life! I didn’t find the battery model numbers or recommended battery for each tool to be very valuable. The pace is slow, you can easily watch on 2x speed.
  • @bernlitzner2739
My oldest battery goes back to March of 2016. (2.5 a/h) I've had one 7.5 (newer with fuel gauge) fail and it was covered under warranty. Download the app and register your equipment and batteries WHEN you get them. And keep them inside in the basement in the winter. Great video Al!
  • Because they’re so expensive I bought a counterfeit battery from Amazon and it does the job fine no problems
  • @sethsalberg3678
I've been doing this with my batteries since day one. Still using my original 7.5ah dated 2017. Though it does not have full capacity anymore it still works. I basically never use the fast charger Another good tip: After finished using tool/batt and have rested it 30 min or more to cool, I will charge it back up to about 50%. Then it can sit until the next time I need it and then fully charge it right before I need to cut the grass again. This is also important to do when done for the season and the batteries mostly sit over the winter. LiOn batteries don't like to be fully charged or discharged for an extended period of time.
  • @paula.2422
Another excellent video. Thanks for all the great information 👍
  • @franzputsch254
Just ordered an E-go string trimmer.....so excited! It is a kit, so it comes with a battery.
  • @j-sonS
That's a nice screen on that mower. I never saw that one. Mine is the old original version. I used it today and it works well still.
  • @dustinwooden9802
Lol, welp, I was doing none of these except taking them in during the winter. I immediately went out into the garage and removed the batteries just sitting in the tools and on the chargers and found some proper storage for them when not in use. Thank you for all of the tips! I'm not sure if this is a good one to add, but I have bought two additional batteries from Facebook marketplace that were brand new and for about half the price. Buyer beware, of course, but they were excellent sellers.
