All the men in the comment section missing the point of the song. She isn't saying that women like being abused, she's saying that being in a toxic relationship messed her up and made her unable to be happy in normal settings.

As someone who has had multiple abusive and toxic relationships, I can completely relate to this song. I went through so much that even when I would find myself in a decent relationship, I would run from it because I didn't know how to react to it. After a lot of growing and healing, I have finally learned to be at peace with my past and do my best not to allow it to taint my present. Songs like this remind me of where I have been and help me to focus on where I am.

Even as a guy, I get the meaning of this song and actually relate to it. my first relationship was emotionally abusive and even though I know now that it was unhealthy, I still heavily miss that relationship, even after having healthier relationships since then

I feel kinda differently about this song. It feels like she's singing to herself--hates herself, loves herself, that struggle we all have in accepting ourselves. Two of herself holding hands, a Queen sitting on her throne, who knows her power. She always pulls herself back from the edge, sacrifices for herself, always chooses herself when it comes down to it. What a heart. ❤
