They are trying to take their homes
  • I propose a law that states. A homeowner may list the property at any time for sale at the assessed value. If the property doesn't sell for that amount within 6 months the city has to purchase the property for said amount.
  • Sue. This is the dumbest error. They are full of bs. How did they make this "mistake" to a bunch of other homes too. Something is not adding up.

Not a mistake. New assessments will kill home ownership. Watch out.
  • @melvinlovejones
He had to call the local media to get it fixed is unsettling.

Property tax: cause even when you own your home, you never actually own your home.

Remember homeowners, you're still actually renters.

Just remember.. If YOU make a mistake on your taxes, you don't get to say "Oops".

Paying taxes to a government that can't manage their own finances and are in extreme debt 🤮
  • @jorgeharmstrong
Property tax on anything other than the land is absolutely evil. Taxing the supposed value of improvements shows that we live in a garbage nation ruled by criminals.
  • @DrAlauna
They need to get together for a class action lawsuit. Somebody's "mistake" created a lot of stress and trauma in that community. Ridiculous!
  • The tax assessor should be investigated for gross negligence and fired for not doing a proper job.
  • Devastating! If he had not contacted the NEWS they would have NEVER taken accountability. This has happened to so many others & it's an intentional scam. Homeowners BE AWARE!

People need to protest about property taxes. Property tax is outrageous. The government shouldn’t tax property. What do they use the money for?
