  • The emotion of this show, specifically, Jani singing 'I Saw Red', takes the song to another dimension of meaning. Thank you for posting such an intimate acoustic session. From only knowing the "Mass Culture" Warrant Hits, I truly now just realize what a talented performer, songwriter, and singer (that sang with ever fiber of his soul) Jani is, was, and always will be. My deepest respect to Jani and my sincerest apologies for not recognizing this earlier. My teenage years were spent with "Alternative" music aka Media labeled "Grunge" in the forefront of music culture. "Hair Metal" was on its way out. I always loved the song Heaven. I fondly recall as an 8 year old, watching Jani & Warrant on the 1990 American Music Awards, wondering why Jani had a black eye, but being mesmorized by the way Jani sang and seemed so in touch with the song. Turn the clock forward to 2019, it is a blessing to revisit an old friend, the comfort that is in Jani's voice, and the brilliant in both the songwriting, music structure, and harmonies. This side of "80's Hair/Glam Rock" should be shown in documentaries about Warrant and the Majority of bands from this era. The 80's rock scene appeared to have two souls, 1. The Rock Star; the light. hearted, fun, over-indulging, Sex, Drugs, Women, Rock & Roll lifestyle 2. The Soul Seeker; the antithesis of the Rock Star, instead an introspective vision of a man, looking to into the mirror of his own soul, catching a glimpse of eyes they once know. Writing & singing songs of retrospect, wisdom, loss, and heartache. Songs with thought provoking & sometimes darker lyrics, trying to find balance, similar to a child trying to find their way through the night. It is an honor to have music's past, as the current state of mass culture music is killing brain cells as I type. Thank you to singers/bands from the 80's like Warrant, and every other band/singer from the 50's to Present times that write and play with a passion and purpose. For your purpose has molded me into the person I am today..a person for without your music, likely wouldn't be in this world. To all musicians gone to soon, Bless You, Rest In Eternal Peace. In my opinion, we are one in the same. You wrote songs to convey the feelings perhaps couldn't be said in another context, directly correlating to the emotions I feel every time I listen these song. Music is my therapist, a constant reminder of memories good and bad, an infactuatuon turned addiction, some of my innermost feelings, and the ONLY way I ever am at peace, knowing I am NOT alone in this world. I am forever grateful for your wisdom, not being afraid to share your heart and soul with the world, even at the expense of your own well being. May you never forget the lives you changed, molded, touched and saved. For, Your Dedication, Your Music, and Your Souls will Forever Reign and Remain Eternally Immortal. 🎗 🎶🎗

I was blessed to have seen Warrant perform as an opening act in 1990 and then Jani Lane again just a few years before he passed away. As much as I loved their songs and talent, I am sorry to say that I never fully appreciated how special Jani was as a song-writer until he was gone. I will always miss him.
  • I miss u Jani....God bless u bro....I will Never forget!! I know where u been bro...and you knew where I had been....Like u said... "it's just a shot glass bro".......see ya on the better side of things.respect!
  • This is AMAZING!!! Jani Lane was one of the best songwriters ever. He also had a very distinct voice to match it, he sounded like NO ONE else. He sounded like himself. His voice makes me feel like a child again. I could fall asleep listening to him sing "Heaven". It's very lullaby-esque. The melody, the harmonies, the lyrics...
  • I just stumbled across this on accident. Thank you eternally for sharing. Jani Lane had a heart. You were and are loved Jani.
  • This is so sweet and so incredibly sad all at same 😢 such felling in his vocals and the simplicity of acoustics...... missed incredibly
  • Letting go of you was so hard to do and I thought that it would kill me but I made it through somehow and I'm so much stronger now...
  • Jani was pure talent when he was on stsge...he is one of my all time heroes as far as voice and songwriting goes. You are missed more then you know....Respect!
