What Lady Gaga taught me today: Everything will make sense in the end.

I love that the video had to have an ad because it was being sponsored, but the ad was literally incorporated into the story of the video. Like, LG's slogan "Life's Good" appearing literally stands in contrast to the video's story, and offers a dark irony to it. The way the advert was incorporated into the concept of the video, instead of just being a random ad, was simply brilliant.

Ten years from now, this video will still be too ahead of its time. Gaga’s work is visionary and inspirational.

Director: How many references do you want? Gaga: YES

The “I don’t wanna die” hits different.

I remember watching this for the first time, at the end I was shocked, I was crying, my jaw dropped and I couldn’t express one word cause I was understanding what was going on with all the references and 3 years later I got the same feeling, Lady Gaga is beyond incredible

That millisecond when they show that she was resuscitated for the first time at 2:17, where she symbolically gets pulled to the ground. Literally a split second. Blows my mind

gaga will forever be the queen of music videos
  • I remember reading an article in 2009 (in a paper magazine!), shortly after Bad Romance was released. "The art of music video is dead", claimed the author. I'm watching this video almost 15 years later. I wish I could show this one to whoever wrote that article & watch their face

The fans were complaining about how “she lost” her artistic creativity into her music videos and then she came mad as hell and slapped all of them with this music video 😭 i love her sm

JESUS CHRIST GAGA! The amount of references in the video to the end is insane! I’m gonna list all the ones I noticed, I’m sure I missed plenty. 0:27 here the anklet is representing her wounded/bleeding ankle while also showing the bike. 0:46 the person banging their head on a pillow is actually an airbag 0:55 I don’t know if this outfit is representative of a neck brace but it looks like that to me. 1:07 this is the person in the street cradling on of the deceased victims 1:15 these are the bystanders as evidenced by the “selfie stick” shown here 1:19 1:18 here are two of the biggest! The two paramedics. And the Red Cross on the white outfit is obviously the Red Cross, but it doesn’t even register on your first watch 1:34 here the paramedic is covering the victim in a blanket 1:55 this is the other paramedic putting on this persons oxygen mask 2:11 the mirror here is the flashlight they shine in her eyes while over her 2:14 here’s a GREAT one! Here they pull her down which is them literally resuscitating her and you can see for a split second her in the real world here 2:17 (This one is thanks to another comment here) 2:26 the tourniquet is applied here 2:34 ooh and this is the person fixing the movie theater sign, and the rose petals are the sparks! 2:35 these people in blue costumes represent police officers controlling the crowd 2:39 the people wearing yellow with the red symbols represent the firefighters 2:46 this is obviously just an actual depiction of the whole crash 3:02 yellow police tape in the background 3:07 and lastly here is the stretcher! 3:17 and then these are obviously the defibrillator paddles and all of the people at the scene. Feel totally free to tell me ones I missed
  • This is the “bloody Mary” mv we always dreamed of and never had

When you struggle with trauma, your mind goes off and disconnects from reality, “reality and dreams can interconnect”. Her mind tries to creat a “ happier” place even though she had the accident, ex. Apples - blood, that guy at the beginning on the pillow actually crashed, etc. I think that’s all about and reminds me a little Marry the night music video intro: “It’s sort of like my past is an unfinished painting and as the artist of that painting I must fill in all the ugly holes, and make it beautiful again.”

The first time I watched this the ending triggered my PTS from being in a traumatic car accident and had me hyperventilating and screambawling right along with her. It’s my heart song. She’s on another level. A true artist.
