You guys get to officially meet my birds! I also talk about how I ended up owning birds and why I am obsessed with birds now. Years ago, I was a first-time bird owner and I made quite a few mistakes! (No ones perfect!)

I wasn't a fan of birds because of a few bad experiences I had with seagulls. It wasn't until I met a guy who had lovebirds that I realized how amazing parrots really are!

Pigeons and seagulls are just as amazing as other birds. All birds deserve respect.

Pidgeons are so undervalued. They are affectionate , intelligent and compare to other birds their bite is harmless plus they can fi d their way home.
  • haha πŸ˜† my cockatiels name is pineapple and he perked his head when he heard his name. pumpkin and pineapple are so cute πŸ₯°

Awww I love Pineapple and Pumpkin and hearing their stories. It’s funny because we have two green cheeks (one cinnamon, one normal) who have such similar mannerisms to yours! The cinnamon hate paper towels, draws blood when she bites, likes showers, etc. and the normal coloring is the one who is silly and independent, likes to watch my boyfriend do the dishes πŸ˜‚πŸ˜

I'm just happy about your relationship, your new animal adoration, and how you guys managed to take good care of them! <3
  • A good friend of mine has 30 oder maybe even 40 pigeons at her house. Well actually they live in a huge house/cage in their garden and the garden is big enough so there is enough room for all of them. I always enjoy to watch them fly together around the house or through the streetsπŸ•ŠπŸ•Š. Pigeons are beautiful and lovely birds😍😍 She even trains them so that they know how to fly together and come back home together. They are left out twice a day so they can have a bit free time. The only negative encounter I had was when one of them once pooped right on my forehead, right between my eyes when I was waiting at the bus stopπŸ’©πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚ But still, they are cute animals and I love them! :) β€πŸ•Š

I've noticed whenever I get a new bird, they always adapt their chirp to fit in with the flock!

I grew up in Toronto, which is very similar to New York in many ways, and we have tons of gulls and pigeons. I like to feed gulls (we have Ring-billed Gulls) and you can really see the intelligence in their eyes. If you give ONE gull some food, a TON of gulls will magically appear for some! They have excellent vision and they are always watching what's going on around them. I LOVE birds! I have held some birds, but I have never owned one as a pet because I'm one of those people sensitive to loud noises....and I live in a tiny apartment. Maybe some day, it would be cool to have a Conure or a Quaker. They're adorable birds!

I am so sorry that this happened to you. I'm more than grossed out for you. I'm so happy that you recovered from this horrible experience. It's a precautionary tale for all of us. I had a cousin who was terrified of birds because she was attacked not once but twice by large black crows. So... words of warning ~ if you visit Massachusetts, beware of the big black crows. They truly are predators. 😒
  • Very similar situation. My ex had birds and I love animals but didn't understand them. Now I'm his go-to sitter and I'm making them tons of toys!!!
