I made a dedicated rolling stand for mine and jacked it up so I can put a bowl underneath it for the oil change. Also, the spark plug was so tight I could not remove it with the supplied tool. I had to use my auto tune up ratchet and plug remover. Before I re-inserted it, I put some anti-seize on it because they do have aluminum heads. Also, that magnetic dip stick gets hot! You're right about the oil level - just fill it up to the threads and you're good. I also drained my carb bowl to get rid of any debris from the factory. And oiled the air filter. I didn't know that about the run time check! This is why I keep watching these videos You never know it all! Love mine - it does everything i need it to do and I am sure with proper care will last many years and hours. Good vid! Thanks.
  • I recently purchased one of these. Looks like the manufacturer has made some changes. The oil fill/drain access is on the opposite side, the side without the easily removable side panel. The drain plug has been replaced with a short rubber hose with a cap on the end. On this side, the engine block is very close to the side panel and it's very difficult to remove the rubber plug from the inside and get the rubber hose with it's cap and hose clamp jammed down through little hole in the bottom of the generator. This all has to be done through the small access door.

Hi Bennie Why do you overfill it? And why the different oils? I’m a female newbie…
