Visting the Juneteenth Site in Galveston Texas and taking the Freedom Walk Tour. Join me to learn about the historic places on Galveston Island associated with June 19, 1865, Juneteenth and learn about how the day became a holiday. Along the way we will visit sites in Galveston's Old town known as the strand and we will visit a civil war site and see damage from the Battle of Galveston, 1863.     Don’t forget that slavery wasn’t in just the southern u.s. Lincoln’s Generals owned slaves and took them to camp with them. Ans Tubman basically moved her own family members, not other people. And freedom in the North, meant going to Canada.
