  • RE7 was literally the rebirth of Capcom. You know it meant a lot to them when they wrote a thank you message after the reveal of RE7 Trailer.

my GPU isn't even rated for RE7, and it still ran at 60 frames no drops, that just shows to me how well they built the game. Few lag spikes here and there inbetween loading screens but I really can't complain when i'm running a machine that's below minimum system requirements.

I was introduced to the RE universe thanks to RE 7! Played Village after that one and then decided to give a shot to the remakes. I ended up playing all of them and it became one of my favorite franchises

I work in QA in the industry, and I have to say, your terminology was so on-point it blew me away. Sprints, scrum meetings, greyboxing. Calling the money-side "Suits", lmao. At one point I had to remind myself this wasn't a video for on-boarding for a new project! Amazing video all around, a great watch! I'll for sure be keeping an eye out for more of your stuff!

It always puts a smile on my face when I see a passionate group of game developers working there asses off to realize their vision.

The quote at the end from Jun Takeuchi almost made me shed a tear. You can see the work and love that went into Resident Evil 7. It's a work of art. I wonder how he feels about RE8 scaling back the survival/horror elements.
  • I love how Takeuchi said he wants it to have the same feel as Evil Dead and it certainly nailed it. So many parts in this game feel so over the top that it comes off as comical but it would definitely be a lot scarier if we were placed in those situations. Great example is how insanely psychotic jack is with how he loves to taunt Ethan

RE7 was such a breath of fresh air to the franchise. I love the game and the horror it generated. There were legitimate moments of dread in this game, and I hadn't felt that in an RE game for a long time. It was interesting to hear the history of the engine that is powering the - pretty great remakes. RE4 remake is out now and I feel like it's one of the best RE games so far. Looking forward to what they do next.

This actually insane how this man got a dream team of experts together. He really did save resident evil

Dude this is Internet Historian level of documentary, from editing to narration. Keep up the good work man.

RE7 was my introduction to Resident Evil, I got it for free with PS plus and was totally blown away with the game. From the moment I first booted it up and saw that amazing cinematic I was in love, I spent like my whole of that summer grinding that game and all the achievements, I can still remember feeling absolutely ecstatic beating Madhouse getting that infinite ammo and running through the game feeling like a god. Then I remember spending countless hours trying to beat Ethan Must Die and getting that achievement filled me with so much joy bragging about it to my friends. This game through and through was just amazing, you can feel all the effort everyone put into the game, I still to this day revisit the game, lay back and enjoy, Masterpiece of a game 10/10.

After I finished Resident Evil 7 and the outro started it was like i felt all the passion that was put into it.
  • Resident evil 7 resparked my love for horror in gaming and horror in general. This game was anxiety provoking and terrifying in the most beautiful way possible. One of my favourite horrors of all time. Absolutely love it
  • I literally just played Resident Evil: Biohazard a few days ago and this game really is the shit. The story in the gameplay is just so sinister that you actually feel like you’re in this situation, it also helps that it’s the first RE game to be in first person. I can say so many good things about this game but to sum it up this game is amazing
  • How did I not see this before?? These type of videos are right up my alley. RE7 served as my first introduction to the series. The intro and demo were so different than anything else I'd seen and I still love that game so much. This video is so insanely high quality, I feel like this could be an actual documentary. Would love to hear the development stories of other games in this format.

RE 7 was my first introduction to the RE series. I fell in love immediately, and after the amazing RE 8, I truly hope they never change this new format.
  • Konami had a good thing going with P.T. Then they fked it all up for themselves and they didn't recover since. Capcom knew a golden opportunity when it saw it and I believe that's really how the RE series made its much-needed comeback. They saw exactly what horror fans wanted. My personal take at least.

Damn, good stuff. Resident Evil 7 was such a gamble for Capcom in so many ways. The franchise was to be taken in a new direction, the focus would be on a new cast of characters, a new engine, new image scanning tech, a different pipeline, VR, and this all had to be approved before work could be done. Awesome video!
  • @geeguy7429
This is one of the greatest videos about development cycles I've ever seen. I love learning new terms that professionals use and see how they are worked on as a collective.
  • @phitsf5475
RE7 felt like the first resident evil ever to feel like what the original concept was actually meant to be. Pure terror with excellent immersion uninterrupted by awful janky controls. I immediately fell in love with it
