FREE Range Practice while Camping with Generator Issues

Published 2024-05-21
It's important to stay practiced if you're going to carry. It's also very important to practice in a safe manner. Some of our conservation areas have free to use ranges. You must, of course, provide your own supplies. Since we were camping here for the weekend and it seemed there wasn't too many out and about, we decided it was time to get in a little practice. It had been a while, but we dialed things in pretty quickly and worked up a hunger so had to go whip up some eats. The generator, our only big source of power, goes on the fritz. We have a campfire, walk the dog and enjoy the rest of our time here. If you missed the first video of this conservation area and would like info on the camping and location, you definitely should check it out. We'll link it at the end so you can jump right over and watch it.

  • Thats awesome yall had shooting practice at your campsite, always good to sharpen those skills ๐Ÿ˜Š
  • Something like this is mind blowing! I had no idea camp areas had free ranges. If you don't have land here, you gotta pay. That definitely looked like some good camp food at the end!
  • The key to safety is to practice and use it responsibly! Didn't know the conservation offers free ranges to practice. Take care!
  • Good shooting my friends! Sorry about the generator! Good luck with everything!
  • That is one thing I miss doing. Yous did pretty darn good. It is a fun hobby I use to do often on a farm but never at a shooting range. We use to put up cans and bottles on a down tree ( old school ). I use to have a girl friend that loved shooting her bow and arrow. I use to shoot in her yard at targets. I never bought my own. I used hers and then deiced I didn't want to invest in one. She was in a archery club and I just never got into it that much. You are such a great cook. It always looks so good๐Ÿ˜Š
  • We always have fun going to shoot at targets with our youngest and her boyfriend. Good job on your aim. Yep, cleaning the guns should help. Glad that helped with your generator.

2A all the way! I conceal carry everywhere I go. I carry a Glock 30S .45 caliber. In today's environment you have to carry...it's not smart not to. When I'm home it sits right next to me and we have multiple guns stashed around the house anywhere from an AR-15 to a shotgun to multiple handguns. As Mr. T would say..."I pity the fool that would enter our house uninvited" lol ๐Ÿ™‚ They always say, the worst conceal carry person is the one that doesn't carry and that ain't me my friend. I don't know how I found this other channel of yours but I like it even though it isn't cooking. Nice to see all the people behind the camera. You should do a little more of it on your @HappyPlaceCooking channel. Your husband and yourself are pretty good shots. I'd say, offender disabled ๐Ÿ˜‰ Watched the Jeep headlamp video and camping with the other YouTuber guy. Never would I have thunk you had another channel until I accidently found this. I'm a fan so far ๐Ÿ‘

As the wife of g*n enthusiast and living in the bush 75% of the year, I have been 'trained'. lol! Hubby was a fire arms instructor in the RCMP and taught all 5 of our kiddos to shoot and hunt. Canada's laws are very different from the USA concerning fire arms, much stricter. No where can you carry, open or concealed, unless it is part of your job. It's so funny when we are in the States and hubs sees someone carrying. I get a whole lesson on the type they are carrying, it's history, caliber, etc. I just nod my head and zone out, lol!๐Ÿ˜‹ But, when we are at the cabin, or around home, I appreciate the protection they can provide.

Fun times practicing with the sidearm. Looked like it kept jamming on you tough. I'd have that checked out. Probably just a good cleaning and then some lubricant will fix that. I have that same problem with my weapon when I have not shot for awhile. You don't want to have that situation when you actually need to use it in a defense situation. It is always good to practice for situations like that though. That was a pretty far distance for a pistol. Nice job on your shooting from that distance. Especially with a silhouette target that has a pin head! LOL. Dang weather! At least you had some shelter and good food. Have a great day.
  • Thatโ€™s a pain that it wouldnโ€™t cycle some ammo. Yep, itโ€™s good to stay practiced ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘
  • Very nice!!! Definitely great to stay in practice. I noticed that sometimes the round didn't chamber. Might want to try being more stiff wristed with it. If you don't hold it tight enough it acts like a shock absorber and won't chamber the next round. Of course it could be the rounds or the hardware. I have gotten bad rounds before. Great video my friends. Have a wonderful day!!!๐Ÿ˜Š
  • @rvfamilylife
Jessie looked so nervous walking down there to hang the target.
  • @DesmondsDonders
Back from our unexpected journey and catching up. Yes I think they need a good clean. To many stoppages.
