  • We all 1000% agree - not being locked into one particular app is optimal! I do understand the benefits and cohesiveness, but I, personally, prefer freedom over convenience.
  • Pro tip for looping/pad sections. If you set the time signature of that section so that the length of 1 measure is the length of the chord progression (16/4 or 24/8 or whatever you need), you can manipulate the Ableton to jump ahead at the end of a chord progression, not just the end of a pre-set number of bars. Because for all Ableton knows it's just a really long measure. You lose the accent click for that section, but you can get transitions insanely smooth.

Perfect timing!!!! I just got Ableton about a week ago, and was hoping you would make an updated tutorial !!!

Right in time for Easter 😂 praying to everyone this weekend! Especially the ones starting to use Live! It might take you a bit but 100% worth it!
  • Another benefit with the midi click is creating different subdivisions within the same song, and automating click volume. For example, maybe there is a part of the song that tends to rush or the click gets a bit off - I can customize the click for that section only and then have it return to normal once we are past that section
  • You guys should do an in-depth tutorial on how to run backing tracks/clicks using Logic Pro X!
  • @kurtlouherms513
Hey guys, quick question, curious why you use a tempo track vs automating the master tempo? What would be the potential advantages / disadvantages?
  • Jake, I'm curious if you will be doing another masterclass video at some point showing how you are actually building some of the advanced things in your show? We went through that video as well as this one and both videos are more about what you are doing than how and there are some things we'd really love to learn that we aren't currently doing, such as your Tempo track to automate tempo changes and how you are notating in the Markers track as well as a few others. Or do you have any resources you used to learn how to do these that you could point me to? We've been using ableton for 10 years but just in session view and realized that there's so much more we could be doing to help ourselves out here. Thanks!
  • Thanks for the video. Are you controlling presentation slides with ableton? I did not see any tracks for that. If not, what do you use to synchronize music with the tracks?
  • Do your lighting cues work with programs like Obsidian or firing cues through the NX2?
  • @sebasguitar132
Hi guys amazing content, for the audios do you use mp3 or wav?
  • @jdizzle9507
Wow. Just learned Ableton changed name of Master track to Lead track.
  • i need help in starting to use ableton live. can you recommend some help
  • Does anyone know how and what I need in order for stems/tracks to be different levels in each and every in ear. I am looking into it and this was a question I had. I want it to be a simple set up, but also able to have the EG tracks for drums at different volume than what Keys want it at.
