As a Successful Black American business man,i believe financial growth is a real and possible endeavor but guidance makes all the difference. Managing money is different from accumulating wealth but the lack of investment education in schools may explain why people struggle to maintain their financial gains.
  • Very informative. Descendants of American slaves don’t live to be rich or socialites. Especially descendants of Maryland and South Carolina, which is my story. Coming off the American plantations our forebears inspired that each generation would pass a little to the next generation. Our mission was education, land, and housing., and building strong family values through our Christian faith. Many of our families never left the American South and it became a Mecca for black homeownership and the HBCU graduate. Slaves could not be educated or own land and housing. We came this far by faith not money or wealth. Our Christian beliefs get passed down as well. Frederick Augustus Douglass life in Maryland inspired me to change the way I think about black people. We are not a race, we are not monolithic, but we are rather a community of people who have the power to choose our own tribe. The mission after slavery was to encourage each generation to live better. If American blacks are not owning, housing and land, someone may be owning us. Slavery was real and can be repeated if we lose sight.

The fact that you can still list the richest Black families in 2023 means there is not enough wealth in Black hands. Very unfortunate.

Excuse me but there are wealthier Black American families than this list who are not in sports, music and entertainment. Better research is a requirement. Let’s be honest.
  • Richest mixed families. At least they are described in terms of a color and not in terms of their ethnicity (which defines a truth to the matter). Noted-Very few African women among the richest black families. The money going right back ... where they wish to keep it.

The LeBron staying away from the big screen joke was pretty funny 😂
  • Tiger Woods doesn't consider himself black. So I don't consider him as a black man period. One that denies his race shouldn't be considered among them.
  • @thembakazi72
I wish it was more unknown families like the Stewart family ❤
  • @threemothers
Awwwww!!! Thank you. I suggested this topic and bingo it’s here. Thanks again.
  • Don't know why y'all put Tiger woods on the list.. didn't he disclaim being "black" at one time?? Ijs
  • It's not a sin to be rich. It is a sin not to be generous. The day l have a home of my own and can make a difference to the place where l was born l'll have made a difference and leave a legacy.❤

You only show Robert with his white 2nd wife and mixed kids leaving out his black 1st wife and four older black kids. Interesting
  • Richest Black Man was worth 400 trillion. He was a Muslim King named Mansa Musa.

Ali Dangote of Nigeria is worth $16.1 billion in November 2023 (and once his new Dangote Refinery is in full operation, it will be the largest single-train refinery in the world - he'll be super rich). Then there's 4 or 5 more Nigerians worth more than Mr Smith. Patrice Motsepe from South Africa is worth $3.2 billion. More billionaire black women: Rihanna, Folounsho Alakija, Ngina Kenyatta , Isabel Dos Santos,

I thought by the title there was a black family that was the world’s richest! Like the black version of Rothschilds
