Bernie is the best thing to happen to Sky F1. I love her input, always on point.

First, I must be getting old because how on earth did Bernie or Matt not know that Craig when referring to “International Rescue” was giving a Thunderbirds reference…😅. Second, let the “driver” silly season continue - it makes things much more interesting. I think it’s not an ideal move for Sainz, but it’s certainly the right one. Williams are certainly going in the right direction, whereas the others are unknowns.

I took part in a recent swimming competition doesn’t matter I was in a speed boat and the rest weren’t. I take pride in the fact I crossed the line first.🎉🥇 🏆

Bernie Collins explained every aspect of car weight technicality so beautifully, she's super good, also thanks to Matt for acknowledging Lewis Hamilton win, he was super on the track and deserved to win,...

The important point no one seems to mention is that with Checo never ever taking points off of max’s rivals that actually HURTS Max’s Drivers Championship hopes. Even if you take the view that the drivers is more important than the constructors, having a one driver team is never possible without an RB19, which a team can obviously never bank on…
  • Mercedes clearly want George Russell to step up. His strategy call in Belgium was part of a pattern. George is prone to making mistakes and to make opportunistic calls that don't work out. He pushed for the one-stop in Belgium and Mercedes agreed without thinking hard enough about the consequences. I suspect they need a more experienced line-up for 2025 and beyond. They can't afford a mistake, and I'm not convinced that George is capable of being the development leader and consistent test driver Lewis has been for a decade. I fear that Sainz was an opportunity Mercedes should have taken.

loved Bernie's analysis of the Checo situation. The bad performances is on Checo but RB had THREE years to figure things out.

The best signing in F1… Bernie Collins to Sky F1. When this woman talks… people listen. She gives a fascinating and educational insight to things you couldn’t even imagine. Loving this engineering perspective now given to fans. Helps to build knowledge and understand the engineering competition side of the sport

Lewis was told lap 9 to save fuel 😂
  • @MrPutman
Surely if the car was expected to last 15 laps on a set of tyres but ended up lasting 30 laps, then the tyres would still be in a similar condition to if the tyres had lasted only 15, and then changed and then worn down towards the end of the race. It's much more likely that the car was always underweight and that the lack of marbles showed up that fact.
  • @stig2795
If I understood Bernie, a tire can weight 1kg less at the end of the race. When it was decided George was going to try a one stop, shouldn't some boffin back at HQ have realized that without changing tires where was a good chance the car was going to be underweight and said something?

24:32 True that Max singlehandedly scored enough points in 2023 to win the WCC for RBR but in 2023 Perez was 2nd in WDC and is currently 7th and heading toward 8th behind Russell.
  • @blaymeister
Craig showing how simply he looks at F1. Thanks for putting him right Bernie 👍
  • @djalz2
Great move for Sainz, it'll be interesting to see what Williams can pull out of the bag with the extra VC funding. The Red Bull thinking baffles me though, Checo will clearly cost them the constructors title and the drivers isn't wrapped up either with 280 or so points left but it's turning into a decent season and could even be a great crescendo
  • @BwInNewJersey
There is no other sport as fundamentally international as F1. Love Bernies background.
  • @kplaunt8448
If a car somehow loses a part of the car ie wing after crossing the finish line and reduces the weight of the car below the allowable weight, are they still DQ'd?
  • @sugs2007
Bernie is spot on about RB handling of checo.
