The Ukrainian incursion into Kursk makes no sense, rationally speaking. Russia has too many forces in Kursk and the surrounding oblasts. Russia does not need to redeploy forces that are actively engaged in Donetsk and Luhansk. Ukraine will not be able to make further gains or hold onto what it has captured.

Ukraine is simply trying to do to Russia what happened to them at Kharkiv, the main difference is when Russia advances outside the range of their support equipment, they can still rely on FAB bombs and long range missiles. Ukraine don't have the same luxury so they need to bring heavy artillery and AA system even closer to the border and risk having them destroyed.

How were the Russian services unable to notice that the Ukrainians were mobilizing forces near the border? Russia is playing too much with Ukraine. this is becoming irritating.

A photo of one soldier in a certain area doesn't mean they have taken a vast area it just means there is a presence or was a presence. I was a member of close observation platoon working in four man teams just because we were in an area didn't mean we controlled it even though we were there. The point of special forces is to go deep, escape and evade, move around and cause as much confusion and chaos as you can, it doesn't mean small groups of soldiers can hold anything but you can certainly make it look like your everywhere.
