Enoshima, Fujisawa City, Kanagawa Prefecture, depicted in this animation, is a land-tied island jutting out from Shonan coast into Sagami Bay that has long been known as a place of pilgrimage and scenic beauty and is designated a Special Scenic and Historic Site by the prefecture.
The city of Fujisawa, to which Enoshima belongs, made a Climate Emergency Declaration, and citizens, businesses and government are working together to combat climate change such as by designing environmentally friendly urban systems.
Fujita’s music is reminiscent of the beautiful scenery of the magnificent ocean off the Shonan coast, and the healing sound of meowing cats.

Video Director/Animator/Illustrator
Arai debuted as an animator in 2008, and worked on in-between animation for the Studio Ghibli films “The Secret World of Arrietty” and “The Wind Rises.” Since then, he’s done character design and unit direction for “Penguin Highway,” storyboarded and directed the second episode of “Pokémon: Twilight Wings,” and directed the opening animation sequence for “Do It Yourself!!”.

【藤田聖史さんからのメッセージ】 江ノ島は都内に住む自分にとっても身近な場所であり年に数回行きますが、水平線が広がり柔らかい塩の香りがする海岸はいつ訪れても気持ちが良くて気付けば長居してしまいます。自分が幾つになっても、また後世にもこの景色は残っていてほしいです。次訪れた際には文野さんと猫達のように山から大きな海と江ノ島を覗いてみたいと思います。

こんな事書いたら失礼になるかもしれませんが、実に文野環さんらしいアニメーションですね。只々まったりとして団子かなんか食べてる猫耳のお兄さんが、気がむけば側に来た猫に自分の食べてるものを与えてるそこに親切とか恩着せはなく只々共にまったりしているようにみえます。周囲の時間の流れもゆっくりで、、、、、いいですね。素敵なアニメありがとうございます。
