It's been a bit since I last touched water...so that's why I'll be seeing how fast I can touch water in every Zelda game.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ About j0rts ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Hi there! I'm j0rts, and I like to explore mostly pointless things in video games while playing them in weird, unconventional ways.

Despite my name, this channel has nothing to do with jorts. In fact, I've never even worn a pair of jorts in my life. I just find the word fun to say... j o r t s.

Anyways, thanks for taking the time to check out my channel. If you'd like to hang out with me live, be sure to visit my Twitch channel over at www.twitch.tv/j0rts

If you'd like to see some pit stains live, I'll be streaming Zelda every Wednesday until Tears of the Kingdom comes out over at www.twitch.tv/j0rts
  • I think that not doing a "How fast can you break pottery in every Zelda game" run in the future would be an incredible missed opportunity.
  • I know Breath of the Wild has that puddle of water there right before getting out of the chamber, but I mean... you start off submerged in water before even waking up.

What's interesting is that I think a lot of placements on this list would be a lot different if you started the timer when you were able to control Link instead of when you started the game. Cutscenes absolutely demolishing the rate at which you can touch water in the likes of Wind Waker and Ocarina of Time lol.

Now touch some sand in ever Zelda game
  • @Tilberjack
In half of the games Link drowns instantly, and in the other half he swims perfectly.
  • It’s incredible that windwaker is one of the longest runs to get to water
  • @arjanstoel
In Links awakening and in BOTW you start in water, before you can walk. Does that count?
  • @Enderia2
I know that Breath of The Wild makes you touch water instantly, but I’m excited for the others

The fact that windwaker is not number one is criminal. Sometimes I feel like speedruns should start the second you can physically move lol

Link's face getting slowly mangled by the pixelated zoomout whe dramatic music plays will always make me laugh. In PH, he looks like the Runescape Slayer gnome child!
  • Whoa, dude. I'm legit stunned that you put Tri-Force Heroes in this. I haven't seen it appear in literally any other Zelda compilation before, even though it was one of my favorites (it let me play with my husband :3). MAN was that game hard to find other players with after a good month or so, though.

It's now time. We all knew it was coming. It's time for Kirby to touch some grass and some water.
  • love that the ds games actually murder you in the tutoral levels. Especially Phantom Hourglass. Like, this is supposed to be WW Link, who can swim, why is he drowning!!?
  • I love how wind waker, despite being THE water zelda game, takes the longest amount of time to any of the previous games by a significant margin.
  • Too bad you touch water so quickly in Link to the Past. The swimming animations of Link when he swims in the rest of the game is quite adorable.

I think that rain may fulfill the letter of the requirement but perhaps not its spirit. "Touching water" usually means "touching a body of water " (such as a puddle, river or lake). If you wanted to be super-technical, there's moisture in the air so that's automatically "touching water", but it's not in the spirit of the challenge.
