Stroll did 32 laps in the Hard just 2 less than Russell yet weighed in Ok. Surely Merc had an Ace up their sleeves which turned out to be a Joker in the end.

One thing I found interesting was Merc didn't fight it. They could of gone with the line "something might of come loose during the race." They didn't, it's almost like they knew already.

Establishing a rule for the minimum weight of the car without the tires on it seems like the solution.

Remember, they changed the floor out of the car on Friday. I wonder how much difference in weight there is between the two floors? Balast was likely moved around for the super wet Saturday vs dry Sunday and someone just made an error while that was going on.

Impressive considering how just a couple of years ago everyone was stripping the paint off the cars to save every gram as they struggled to get down to minimum weight.

This does not explain the look on Toto's face after Russell crossed the line. Maybe the car was not supposed to run a 1 stop strategy and the car was not ballasted for a 1 stop run.😮

I feel the most likely cause for Russel's car being underweight is when Mercedes Friday upgrades proved unworkable, when they reverted to the original spec, they forgot to change the ballast so that the car was in their target weight window.

I think it's a joke at Spa not to allow the cooldown lap and see the fans. We had to put up with the protracted journey to the podium in Vegas!!
