Paris Olympics organizers apologized to those offended by Friday’s opening ceremony, while defending the concept behind it.

The event’s artistic director Thomas Jolly distanced his vision from any “Last Supper” parallels, saying it was meant to celebrate diversity and global understanding as well as pay tribute to French gastronomy.

"we're sorry you're offended" not "we're sorry" like saying "I'm sorry you feel that way" resign now

Weak and lame non apology. They offended millions...try that with Islam and see what happens!
  • They’re sorry people are offended because they shouldn’t even be apologizing in the first place! Hope this helps ❤
  • What an absurd lie. Imagine if they'd mocked "Saint" George Drug_Abuser of Minneapolis and then said "there was never any intention to disrespect."

Disgusting - the world should boycott the Olympics

Of course, it was intended to offend. These people are so self-centred that the rest of society just does not exist to them.

BS of it wasn't intentional they rehearsed it im sure several times so yeah it was purposefully done and the only thing it accomplished was humiliating the athletes and the countries involved in this blatant propaganda and blasphemy
  • I don't accept this apology at all - try this on a Muslim community & see what will happen! - this was completely intentional & totally disgusting & my respect for the OLYMPIC hierarchy is zero!
  • @BruinsRule
I dare them to depict the prophet Mohammed and tell Muslims it isn’t meant to be offensive.
  • Your words and actions don’t match or measure up to the the vision you’re describing of the art form you portrayed and showcased to the world for the 2024 Olympics
  • Sorry not Sorry. What the heck were they the having a transgender make a mockery of the last supper. Unacceptable.

What was seen, can never be unseen. Boycott the Olympics!
  • I don’t accept their apologies. Again people disrespecting other people knowing that we won’t agree with the blasphemy. Don’t dare to insult Islam and Muslim religions. Because you know what would happened.
