The No Man's Sky we play today is vastly different than the No Man's Sky of 2016. And it'll likely be even more different next year! In the meantime, join me as I reminisce and compare some the original interior spaces that have been replaced over several updates. In addition to their unique visuals, some of these cut interiors also included features no longer available in the current game. From the original Space Anomaly to various layers of Space Stations and Freighters, get ready to step back in time!

I hope the Atlas pass V3 doors get more usefull again. Because plants or rusty metal aren't worth crafting this pass
  • I loved those cryo/medical save chambers! I liked imagining that was how my character healed herself after getting into fights with pirates.

I miss the first iteration of Freighter bases. Going up those stairs and being able to look down on the hanger from the catwalk while watching ships come and go was really nice

I miss the giant columns of mining materials and the general feeling of solitude. 1.0 had such a special feeling to it.

Some of that was before my play time, like the original freighter layout and original bases. But I do remember sharply the original Anomaly, went there often hoping for a good multitool (which I very seldom found)
  • The planetary rooms with plants & rocks in; used to consist of some of that planet's flora & minerals; and you could actually scan them; giving you a great head start on completing a planet's discoveries checklists.

I loved the old frieghter layout. I remember i spent ages building a base in my freighter then lost the lot when they changed it... Great video and propper took me back...👍

This was a trip down memory lane. I forgot how the old Anomaly looked. Neat features were lost but wow has it come a long way. Great video and thank you for making it.

The secret areas opened by the v2/v3 passes always felt like such a letdown after all the time it took to get them. Even if you could sometimes find a exosuit upgrade station or MT box. It was all just so normal and more of the same other than the remembrance rooms. I really keep hoping they'll do more with the passes in a future update. Thanks for the video!
  • Dude I have been watching you for a month now and you definitely deserve way more subscribers, keep up the hard work.
  • I honestly prefer having cuboid rooms inside freighters, as it gives so much more freedom and control over what we have now. Most importantly - you can have taller ceilings with those, nowdays you're very limited in the room height.

Happy you still make videos for this game! I just started with the Switch launch and I absolutely love this game. I’m 115 hours in and I can’t stop! Always something else to see and do! Thank you Content Creator’s!!

I recently started playing…like the Leviathan Expedition was two weeks in already when I began playing. I absolutely love your videos! I love your voice and how you don’t rush while you’re talking. Thank you so much for your dedicated content!!

I was in the original space anomaly yesterday and nothing has felt so nostalgic yet, since I began my time travels! Btw I finished an early version of my guide for Classic play last night and will be posting the link to it on Twitter shortly!

Intresting! Thanks. I just know the 2022 version and it was quite intresting for me to see the earlier stages of the design. I think the anomaly improved a lot, but anyhow the freighter looked more intresting in earlier days.

I wish we could go back to using the base building components for freighters. There is so much I cannot do in freighters and it's...glitchy. Something happened in the last update and now there is a huge gap between two pieces in a large room I built. I can see through to space. Additionally if you try to move an individual item everything on that room piece deletes. (Many bad words were said when I discovered this). Then there's the ongoing stuff: things don't snap properly. You can't turn snapping on or off. You can build several floors up with ramps and stairs but I can't have a room with a high ceiling. I want to build a room for casual socialization (like Ten Forward) but can't because I can't get anything to actually sit on shelves. So no bar. It just makes freight building seem like a clunky afterthought. I get that they want folks to build these big cool bases but I use my freighter way more than a planetary base. It's just how I like to play. (Can't take the sky from me.)
  • @Cogitovision
Freighter bases used to be so buggy that I would sometimes get trapped because a corridor would disappear at some point, and it wouldn't let me build it back.
  • @mr.mothgurgle
Amazing how far this game has come and been though.

And this is why I took steam offline, and downloaded all the pre beyond releases so I can go back and play them at will. Which will allow me to see all these things you mentioned. Same goes for gog version, you can download any of the old versions and keep it offline as well. I still like the launch version.
