Hey I have a situation where I thought my evee was going to evolve into an Umbreon because it was nighttime. I did not do the Tamao name trick prior to evolving and got a Flareon instead which I already have. So now I have two Flareons and I want to get rid of the extra Flareon. I tried transferring the Flareon to the Professor, but it said I could not transfer my buddy. I used to have evee and flareron as my buddy, but not anymore so I dont know why I cant transfer my extra Flareon. Can I trade my extra Flareon?

I can tell you for a fact that using the names for the Eeveeloutions after you've already used them still works. I literally just used Rainer to get a Vaporeon even though I used it about a year ago. So it looks like it will work multiple times.
