PS: Watch a better version @    • "Weird Al" Yankovic - Yoda (HD) (with...  .

Wow! This video reached one million views on May 21, 2018 (less than 2 years from its upload)! I'm so surprised, thank you all, I never expected that!!

FAQ:
-This is not an official video!!
-Sign the ""Weird Al" Yankovic: We Want An Official "Yoda" Music Video' petition @ chng.it/94zm6GXC
-The video tries to compliment the story in the song, told from Luke Skywalker's point of view, as he meets and learns the ways of the force from the Jedi master Yoda, on the planet of Dagobah.
-Some scenes were altered to loop, slow, reverse, etc, as needed.
-Prequel scenes of Yoda were omitted because they fell outside of Luke Skywalker's scope.
-The song came out in 1981 (demo)/1985 (album), and Luke met Yoda in The Empire Strikes Back in 1980, so it felt sensible to use the original theatrical versions for this video.
-The name Yoda is sung 43 times, and spelled once through this track.

"I'll be making these movies 'til the end of time!" Damn, Al called it way back in '85.
  • You truly haven't lived unless you've been at a Weird Al concert with hundreds of people singing "yo-yo-yo-yo-yoda!" all in unison
  • Damn, I thought “A Yoda parody of Lola would be a funny” like a week ago, but Weird Al beat me to the punch by Forty Years
  • Luke: "I'll be playing this part till I'm old and gray." Yoda: "The future you see."

Rock'N Roll Hall of Fame inductee Alfred Mathew Yankovic. That sounds about right to me.
  • “He said Luke stay away from the darker side and if you start to go astray let the force be your guide oh my Yoda…” I always love that part for some reason.
  • A Yankovic classic that pays tribute to the Kinks classic while simultaneously paying tribute to the Lucas classic. Perfect.
  • When 900 years old this song is, sound as good it will.
  • I remember my old math teacher playing this to our 5th grade class in 2007, wherever you are Mrs. Turner, you were a great teacher
  • "The long term contract I had to sign said I'll be making these movies til' the end of time with my Yoda" After the Last Jedi and now the Mandalorian this quote has aged like fine wine.
  • Found myself singing this without knowing it was actually a thing. Then I looked it up and some deep rooted childhood memories were dusted off. It’s funny how the human mind can forget a person but the words of a song can stick with them for years
  • Pretty impressive that Al wrote and recorded this while he was a college student in 1980. The long term contract that he later signed, said that he'd be singing this song until the end of time, Oh my Yoda!
  • "The long term contract I had to sign said I'll be making these movies till the end of time!"
  • "I know Darth Vader's really got you annoyed, but remember if you kill him then you'll be unemployed." Freaking awesome.
  • I just realized Wierd Al predicted the future! "I'll be playing this part till I'm old and grey." Think The Last Jedi. Mark Hamill reprising his role as Luke Skywalker, and he is old and grey!
  • TIL when Weird Al Yankovic asked the publishers of The Kinks' Lola whether songwriter Ray Davies would allow its parody, Yoda, to be released, he got a negative response. However, when Yankovic met Davies five years later, Ray told him that he had never been asked and allowed Al to release Yoda.

Luke deserved a better fate than the one Disney had made for him.
