I can’t believe he did this. I used to look up to Shayne. I used to idealize Shayne. I used to have foreskin. But that last fact is irrelevant. How dare you Shayne Topp. How dare you.

Okay, but can we talk about how Smosh's sketches are slowly becoming a The Office-like sitcom? And I'm absolutely loving it.

Now this is what I call- I saw the opportunity,I took it… this is the best crowd work everrrrrrr…kudos to the audience tho

I actually got to be in the audience that day! So whoever wants the BTS perspective of how this bit worked, feel free to read below! But it might take some of the fun out of it, so be warned. So first let me start off by stating that this was all very staged. Halfway through the Q&A Courtney and Ian told Shayne it was time to do the joke that was written for him. Courtney began the segment by explaining to the audience that Shayne was going to be doing a bit that would be in a future video, and we also had the opportunity to be in it. She explained the short king riot premise to us, and had us be mostly quiet while Shayne performed each script on the stage as they filmed. (By the way, it was so funny watching him say those lines to a quiet audience, it was impressive to see that kind of manic energy with no reactions to feed off of. You need to have some serious guts). Then Courtney directed us through the audience portions, all the getting loud stuff. They told us they’d be putting it together with some “movie magic” in a future video. It’s so amazing how they used it, I have so much more respect for their editors now. But yeah, I highly doubt they got banned from Vidcon, Shayne performed a monologue more than anything. Now: some fun little tidbits! They had the full cast plus some of the more recognizable crew members all squished on 2 couches, except for Ian who sat in his own sofa chair in the middle of the two couches. This led to a lot of really fun antics, but most notably Spencer was sitting halfway on the laps of Tommy and Kimmy like a toddler with his parents, Olivia and Amanda were practically spooning, and Shayne sat perched on the arm of the couch. Then at one point Shayne and Ian switched, so Ian was perched and Shayne had the chair. Also, as a woman who’s 6’2, I was one of the taller members of the audience, and therefore one of the people my friend and those around me jokingly directed their chants at, lol. But I had an absolute blast at both the show and the meet and greet, so thank you so much to all of you at Smosh! Even if Courtney didn’t fulfill her promise of personally emailing the video to all of us ;). (Edited to hopefully make this more readable :))

Funny part is Shayne was actually standing up for a majority of the skit

As someone who's 5'9 this video confused and terrified me. I will now spend the day looking over my shoulder for Shayne.

Serious props to the writers on this one. No real flat moments and each joke had a good build to the next scene giving the whole sketch some solid progression.

his voice when he was close to the camera on the apology video is sooo funny he should bring it back, I love his vaguely European accents

I like how the audience were apart of the act.

I love the parody apology videos from Smosh. This is how I imagine all apology videos would actually go if the person was left to their own devices.

The audience part honestly turned out good. This was a great video. Good job 👍!

Tommy, Noah and Keith left Ian to the pack of people who tried to tear off his kneecaps. They used him as a distraction tactic to hide. Some say they’re still hiding to this very day.

I can’t believe sax guy was finally about to say his first words and he got silenced

I loved the consistency of Courtney's TikTok voice, but I was NOT expecting Heidi, as the newscaster, to have the exact same voice 🤣 genius

I expected Shayne to have done something really serious and bad but I keep reminding myself that this is Smosh 😄😁
