This game is great and for the most part it conveys to the player what tools they need to approach a particular hurdle in a very natural way I'll say. But there is a few instances where it just leaves me wondering how they ever expected people to figure out such an obscure puzzle that's only used like once. Like seriously, a super bomb in the glass tube? Maybe it's just me but I would have never thought to do this without a guide of some sort

You can do a slightly higher jump if you crouch/kneel and then jump. It’s the exact distance needed to make the jump at 20:44

I beat this game more times than I can count and i’m not even replaying it now but something about watching these walkthroughs is so relaxing 😭

I love when I see someone who’s only just playing Super Metroid now and complain about how cryptic it can be. Some of us 80s/90s kids 100%ed the game without YouTube or walkthroughs πŸ˜‚
  • Bro thank you very much! I'm playing Super Metroid for the first time and I was getting desperate as I could T figure out how I was supposed to enter the rest of Maridia, I didn't knew you had to shatter the glass, ty
  • An easier way to get the missile at 18:30 is to ride the turtle up to the little divet above the missile, use a power bomb and then ride the wall down while leaning the stick to the right.

Btw, for the missile xpans in 🐒 room you can pounce on turtle when he's at the wall and he will being you right to it like an elevator, you just ride him kneeling and shoot. Lines right up. But you must jump off right away to grab b/c once you fall it becomes rock again.

I cant for the life of me do wall jumps all smooth and perfect like I see others do....I can maybe get it 3 times max before falling. Between the wall jumps in Super Metroid & the hard ass double jumps in mid-air in Castlevania:Symphony Of The Night with the librarian. Nothing worse than going through a game fine and well until you run into like a roadblock from not being able to pull of some crazy button commands in order to progress. This is honestly my very 1st time playing Super Metroid and actually took it serious enough to get far....for several years I thought this game had no map to help, so I never tried playing it until I realize there is a map! I absolutely love games like metroidvania styles aslong as they have maps it makes exploration and collecting enjoyable even when I have to backtrack a bunch I still enjoy it! Another game I had no idea about for the longest time until a couple years ago I bought the Castlevania Collection 2, that has those 3 metroidvania style Castlevania games like Circle Of The Moon, Harmony Of Dissonance & Aria Of Sorrow handheld games for the GB advance and instantly fell in love with them and replayed them numerous times, especially Aria Of Sorrow

Easy way to get missiles with the turtle. Use the turtle to jump up to it, super bomb before jumping off turtle and hug the wall during your descent.
  • Another way to get the missile expansion is to simply wait for mama turtle to take you up to it like an elevator, and shoot the wall just as you jump off.

been over 25 yrs since i played Super Metroid. I also had the strategy guide for it but not sure where put it.
  • You just earned a sub I’ve been using your walkthroughs to help me with this game and I just saw you had videos on a link to the past keep doing what you’re doing bro

Was just watching this one and you talked about 3 different ways to get the hidden missile pack in the Giant Turtle room. The funny thing is, I never used any of those ways, I always made the big turtle hurtle across the room to that far right side and jumped at the last minute, landing on his back to make him elevate straight up. Then I just shot the wall and jumped over to get it. It's a rough way to go, but it works. I actually like the way you did it in this video, I never thought to try just jumping from the floating platform like that. LOL! #ThingsThatMakeYouFeelDumb

18:45 another way that I did it was by standing on the turtle right there. She does actually reach and you can get it
  • 18:40 I stood on the adult turtle to get both energy tank and missile tank upgrades, just lure her to the corner stand on her back then shot when she jumps. You should be able to get it I did.

14:44 short sparking: am I a joke to you? edit: the pink space pirates may seem invincible without the plasma beam at first, but you can actually kill them by shine sparking and speed boosting. 19:02 just in case anyone missed it.
  • @yummie1830
this really helped me 😁 thanks ☺️
  • When I got the the power bomb past the morphball place it wasn't there!! Weirdd

13:15 HOW was I supposed to know THAT?!?? I mean I really like Super Metroid so far, but it has a really bad case of "if you're stuck, shoot walls"-syndrome. And I bet a lot of kids in the 90ies were desperately running around in the level, trying to find a way to continue until they heard that trick in the school cafeteria Completely normal back then, but today I would say stuff like this is bad game design. It's just not obvious enough that you can blow that glass tunnel up
