Shepherds pie recipe. Shepherds pie recipe, also known as cottage pie is a classic comfort food made in casserole dish. Shepherds pie is made of ground lamb cooked in a gravy with vegetables and topped with creamy mashed potatoes.
My version of shepherds pie is absolutely delicious, your family and friends will definitely enjoy this easy shepherds pie recipe.

Shepherds Pie Ingredients:
2lb ground lamb
3lb russet potatoes
2 medium onions
2 celery stalks
1 carrot
3 garlic cloves (1 for mashed potatoes, 2 for lamb)
1 tbsp fresh rosemary
1 tbsp thyme
1 cup milk
½ cup heavy cream
1 stick butter (8tbsp)
Salt and white pepper
1/8 tsp nutmeg
1 tbsp sour cream
1 cup parmesan (1/2 cup for mashed potatoes, ½ cup on top of the pie)
1 cup gruyere cheese (1/2 cup for mashed potatoes, ½ cup on top of the pie)
1/2 bunch chives
3 tbsp flour
2 cups Guinness beer
1 tbsp tomato paste
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 bay leaves
1 cup green peas
1 ¾ cup beef stock
