Never thought I'd see Ben Weinman from The Dillinger Escape Plan on National Geographic getting his duck fitted with a prosthetic leg. This is awesome.

Love how excited the owner was for wellbeing of his animal!

Waddles upon discovering he has a new leg: HOLY DUCK I CAN WALK AGAIN?! gives a duck-smile

I'm so happy Waddles can use his prosthetic leg so well! Keep practicing Waddles!💪👏👍

It still seems to be a bit to tall for him as he raises quite a bit when he uses the prosthetic leg. I'm also worried about the rubbing pressure of his leg against the hard plastic. I think to shorten it a bit more, plus add a thin rubber layer on the bottom for traction. But glad to see Waddles walking again.

Some rubber underneath and ability to pivot like an ankle would be a great improvement. Super impressed with your efforts and especially waddles . You could see his smile 😊

What a lovely gift! Prosthetics can be painful to use initially, but I think this duck would adjust well. I hope they'll be monitoring him for pressure sores and improve upon the design regularly - as regular use will also change the shape of the stump within the prosthetic.

So so cool. Like what us human did for this animal. Proud to be human when I see stories like this. 👍

Male mallards are not only beautiful but spirited, bold, friendly, and intelligent. They can form remarkable bonds with humans.
