I can’t believe how much the boys have grown from the time I started watching

When you build a radiator/fan shroud and you lay sheet metal against the rad you basically eliminate that area of the radiator from flowing air. Usually building race and pulling radiators we will leave a bubble of about an inch above the core so air can move through all of the rad vs only the fan area.
  • Funny incident that Paul using the arrow sign reminded me of. We were building a brush truck for the VFD. For the switch panel I grabbed an arrow sign that was laying in corner of the FD/county barn, cut it, bent it, drilled it and made a nice aluminum panel out of it. A week later the county commissioner was looking all over the building for the arrow sign he had ordered. He never did find it. Hope he doesn't read the comments to Fab Rats! Lol
  • I'm just gonna say Paul might be one of the coolest dads constantly keeping the boys on there toes an he can build or fix anything plus he has a stable of sick cars and trucks you boys and hunter are lucky keep your eyes an ears open around Paul couldn't learn from better

Paul of course it works you did it at least twice! I love the interaction between Hunter and Grandma! She holds nothing back. A little editing covers what we all know is going on 😜 She is my type of woman. With age comes a lot of I don't give a hill of beans what they think. Thanks for brighting up my morning. Stay safe healthy and happy 👍

Well it's pretty late on Friday night here in Australia, but my goodness this is a great way to end a week, seeing a fab rat video Hi Paul and Michelle and kids
  • Paul a little secret to fix your over heating - put a small air dam at the bottom of the radiator it will direct the air flow up to the radiator You will see this on a lot of cars from the factory This trick fixed the late model circle track car i crew chiefed
  • Another day in the life of a FJ 45 with Paul at the helm and Hunter the cinematographer :-) and we can’t forget the editor for putting this production together . Another job well done . Thanks for sharing .
  • I just did all the weather stripping for both my 64 Nova and and my 1950 Chevy 3100. It is so nice to have quiet warm vehicles. My wife and I love your videos and the great, wholesome content you all give us every week.
  • After 5 heart attacks and cancer I had resolved myself to stay in my lil piece of heaven in tn. Told my family this morning I want to go see yall at the tow truck games, 🤞🤞
  • Funny the way Hunter looked at the camera when Paul said that'll work. Just after he got the first wing window done.

A trick we used to use when we did 24-hour road races was to "cross the beams" of our lights. That is: the right light is aimed to illuminate the left side of the track and vice-versa. That way you get light on the track in front of you plus light on the track curves. Anyhow, fun video but I'm done with my morning cup of coffee and it's time for me to head to the garage to complete this week's goal on my '59 Jag project (swapping in a modern dual brake M/C). Cheers.
  • Hey Paul, another possible thing to help address your heating issue. Your air intake is right above you exhaust manifold. You're sucking in a lot hot air direct in to your engine. Gale Banks has a great video discussing this topic.
  • After seeing you use that black and green tape measure on a previous episode, I decided to buy one. It is so easy to read and is one of the best investments in lower cost tools I have ever made.
  • Man, the Fab Rats youtube channel is just the best. I can't imagine a better youtuber and inspiration than everyone on this channel
  • Most likely the first radiator would have worked if there wasn't a big tyranny cooler and winch in front, but with everything in place the wider opened fins on second radiator will work a lot better. Good upgrades
  • Guess you decided not to cut the holes in the shroud and put flappers on… not a problem, it only helps at higher speeds anyhow, which, once you’re up to speed, it doesn’t take much horsepower to stay up to speed, so the engine is making less heat anyway… nonetheless, I reckon, once Summers here, if it don’t stay cool at higher speeds, with the a/c on, flapper holes in the fan shroud would certainly help, especially since the shroud is so tight to the radiator.

Man, the mouthy kids tie it all together. This basically sums up my childhood. My dad always gave us as hard a time as we did him, but if we ever came up with a good idea he was always happy to acknowledge that forever, and with pride. I’m 42 and we still talk about the stuff we did when I was a kid.
  • @DartyFL
    You're #1, Hunter! hahahaha! I love Grandma.
