  • It was definitely easier to do a low spend this year and was able to buy my own condo! It’ll help me save more as my living expenses are now lower so let’s see how this year goes ❤️ best wishes for everyone this year
  • Hair oil tip: I use a light food oil, like sunflower oil an just use a drop in my palm, rub hands together unti you don't think there is any left and just put through the ends. Works great in the winter when it's drier. Takes just the tiniest amount to make a huge difference. And you can use the oil for food prep. Plus no heavy fragrance. Enjoying your video and transparency.
  • For the phone that cracked since it's used for business you can get the screen fixed and write it off as a business expense. Just depends on your state.
  • Congrats on such a successful no spend year! Paying off $20K in debt is incredible. 👏🏽
  • This is awesome! I have never tried a no (low) spend year but I have started 2021 with a plan for that. Thank you for doing this.
  • This year i am trying a no spend year. I will continue funding my clothes sinking fund, for example, but i wont buy anything from it (i am allowing myself replacement things, for example if i need a new pair of gym shoes because i only use one pair at a time, but i am not buying anything new or unnecessary). I will also try to actually FINISH consumable products before buying a new one, i have a lot of skincare that needs to be used.
  • This is realy interesting, thank you so much for sharing it! I'm doing a No Spend 2021. Now I'm off to watch your tips video!
  • Pretty amazing. I was listing to the part were you only paid $556 on student loans and thought she isn't going to come close to her $20,000 toward debt goal. Then you justified a few things that were not needs so I was more convinced. Then you got to the $6000 +cc and the $2000+ co-signed car and it's like you go girl justify $40 in parking all you want.
  • We love seeing this progress!! Congrats Leila on a very successful year
  • I think it’s all about priorities. For example, I pay less than 1K on rent and live in NYC with roommates. If I paid $1500 I could live on my own but that $500+ can instead be spent on small luxuries or items I like. I do agree though that completely spending mindlessly is not wise but some people can afford it depending on their individual circumstances. (Living at home with parents could defn save a lot of money as well)
  • Thanks for mentioning your experience with guilt v relatable
  • Fantastic! Congratulations! It's amazing how much changes when you cut right back, doesn't it! Good on you - I did the same thing with saving for personal spending and not purchasing it until I have saved for it. Well done

You should be very proud of yourself! This is very impressive!
