Hannah and Sam are high school sweethearts and saw a problem in the protein powder industry. When it comes to getting your powder into a water bottle it’s pretty impossible to do it without it spilling everywhere. So, they put together an innovative yet simple product to solve that problem – the Bosscoop. With 1000 sold so far, they’re in the Tank asking for 25k for 20% of their business. Will the Sharks have a penchant for protein?

It took them 2 years to find out that all plastic water bottle openings are the same size?

Having watched too much shark tank recently. The Aussie version of this show seems by far the friendliest. Even when they are rejected usually they are telling them how much they admire the person for attempting. It's just so fucking wholesome.
  • The company’s net worth is 1 million now if anyone was wondering.

“25 grand is like a coin toss isn’t it” well must be nice id like some coins please
  • Theirs a reason why companies have scoops like that, they want to to spill the powder and use more product faster and buy more of it

    - 2 years to find out that all water bottle holes are the same size. - 80 prototypes to make a basic scoop. “Cheerleader marries the jock” was right.

This product can be easily copied by some chinese company and they will be selling it in $0.50 cents with better quality.

6 dollars !? laugh in Aliexpress

Apart for the fact that took them 2 years to figure it out the diameter of the bottle, I have been using scoops for years and always wondering why someone did not did it before. I always used funnels instead. All the sport supplement companies should move to something similar.

When he corrected him saying "its a scoop, mate" i lost it
  • The editing is so bad. The reactions are clearly picked, so artificial. The flow from one vibe to the next is really not smooth. The over the top soundtrack doesn’t help either. Tone it down, folks.

To all of you thinking this business is a no-brainer... They came up with a solution to a problem that is largely neglected. They had to research the market, design the prototypes for size, weight, balance once full, proper curvature, color transparency, etc. They had to figure out the material, learn about health friendly plastic, find a manufacturer, make a deal, and invest in a couple of batches. They also had to think about the packaging, design, razor slice their margins, find the right influencer, get in contact, invest a lot of money in the process, and launch. They maybe even had a website with payment processing integration at the time of this pitch, plus some social media presence. They were also clever enough to come on Shark Tank, with a presentable pitch, a properly set up legal entity, with the right valuation, ultimately scoring a deal with two sharks. Yes, very easy...
  • I know this isn’t how it works but I like to imagine that there’s like a whole orchestra just off camera and every time something slightly interesting happens they have to play like random sounds.

"There's just stores that sell supplements? Yeah right haha" GNC: "Am I a joke to you?"

Man that hurts when your yearly salary is less than their coin tosses😭

This product is great! Make a nice thicker or maybe even aluminum version to purchase for $6-8 maybe even a set create some buzz, and then make a thin plastic version to sell to companies that include such scoops with their product and make this scoop the new standard
