Thank you for the share, I am part Blackfoot and Cherokee Indian descent. I have all the documented proof and can say I feel truly blessed. My family did an excellent job with preserving this part of our history, the records speak volumes.

Wow, just amazing!! Thank you so much for sharing this David!  I am of mostly Irish and Norwegian decent, but like many others who've commented, I had a great great grandmother of the Blackfoot Native people.  I've been told that her marriage to a white man did receive the blessing of the Blackfoot chief at the time, but her relationship had originally generated some controversy within her family because of the terrible actions being made by the United States against the Blackfoot people.  I've studied this part of my heritage and it's truly heartbreaking how all American Native peoples have been forced to endure a total loss of original lifestyle and peaceful ways of living that they had once enjoyed on this land at the hands of the greedy United States.  The most beautiful aspect of the Blackfoot people that I've been especially touched by, is their incredible ability and willingness to forgive!!
  • The interrelationship of animal and man. Absolutely beautiful. And the bead work, hola ! Beautiful!

  • I love it. My great great Grand mother she was a Black foot Indian. She choose to stay on the plantation she had freedom to go and come as she pleased but her three sons were never allowed to leave with her. The owner of the plantation was their father as well they were his slaves. They were taught to speak and dance as a black foot by their mother. I wish I could have met her. She loved to travel.
  • i wish a could attend this wonderful celebration one day and see those magnificent dancers live!
