In this clip, Curiosity finds a piece of plastic leftover from it's landing on Mars in 2012. It's thought to be a flake of shrink-tube form the descent stage. It's important that this does not contaminate Curiosity's internal sampling system.

The most interesting thing we've ever found on another planet? Our own trash. 😮
  • If we were going to litter, we should at least have taken the opportunity to make the first piece of trash a MARS bar wrapper.

So,,,we don't want to cotaminate the sampler,so we'll just contaminate the surface of Mars. WOW!!! GENIUS IDEA THERE!

A single tear runs downs the Martian’s face as it stands over the foreign object littering its land.
