NOTIFICATION SQUAD: What would you rather have?! Vending machine pizza or Okonomiyaki?! These are the big everyday decisions that make life worth living. I can't believe it's taken 6 years to make a video on Hiroshima! If you're visiting Japan, I always recommend it along with Tokyo and Kyoto as one of the big three. Particularly Miyajima, which is a pleasant island escape from Japan's hectic urban surroundings. A huge thanks to Ellen for joining me today and on the next few episodes of Journey Across Japan - it should be good fun living vicariously through her reactions to Japan!

I’m Japanese and live in Hiroshima. I’m so happy you introduce my hometown!! Thank you!! And come to Hiroshima again!!

thank you Chris, for coming to Hiroshima, I was born in Hiroshima, and raised up there. My parents were hibakusha, both now in heaven. Rest In Peace all of them.
  • “Friendly deer” When I went to Miyajima, one of those bastards tried to grab my map and ended up grabbing my JR rail pass instead. Cue to me having (read losing) a tug of war of competition with a deer until a kind old Japanese man scared it off! Those deer will fuck you up son

I was cornered and robbed by two deers on Miyajima on my first visit there. I was holding a small bag of anko pastries and these two deers surrounded me and won't let me pass until I've given them all those pastries.

Ellen was quite lovely and seemed comfortable in front of the camera. She would make for a good reoccurring guest.
  • @CZsWorld
Two numbers in the title, Chris must be really desperate.
  • @sinnottboy
12:36 “Hold my pizza for me, peasant girl.” Chris, you never fail to crack me up 😂
  • 6:42 deer taking a selfie and thinking: "may be it looks better if I lower my head and look up with those adorable eyes at the camera"
  • @kurorintenshi
Foolish Chris! Everyone who's ever had a Ramune knows the ball bearing only stops the soda from coming out when you're actually trying to drink lol

I'm proud of my hometown. I'm very blessed to go to school every morning while watching the torii.
  • I cant never forget the feeling when i visited Hiroshima, especially the peace memorial museum. There was a certain feeling that i cant describe with words when i saw the remains of the stuff left. It was frightening to imagine the situation back then. It was even more saddening when i saw the Children's peace monument and learning the story behind it.

Gotta say I’ve never seen so many real people before. Not one, but two in a row! Nice job Chris.
  • CHANNEL UPGRADE: CGI Natsuki and Risottoro replaced by real person Ellen. Green screen is still looking great though. Keep up the wonderful work.

Late to the party, but fantastic series. More Ellen in the future. She is fantastic.
  • @-REFLECTION-
Anyone noticed Chris looks like a discount Robert Downey Jr
  • @joepiekl
Two real people in as many videos? I can't deal with that.
  • @Buzzramjet
Great vid of Hiroshima. I was there in 64 as a 13 year old and it was even more incredible as it has only been dropped 19 years earlier and it was even eerier than you can imagine as the city had not yet rebuilt. HOW did you EVER LET HER GO! She is a doll.
  • This channel is low key kind of amazing. I love the music, writing and overall quality that goes into this. I feel like I’m watching an Anthony bourdain video.
