To be honest, if we’re talking about the symbiote only and not Venom himself, it DID fit into the movie very well. It’s like Evil crawls closer and closer to Peter throughout the trilogy, only directly affecting the villains rather than him, until it finally takes the form of the symbiote and infects him as well. If the lowest point Peter could reach before was “just” apathy and inaction in the face of evil, now it has become the concrete possibility of he himself becoming a monster. This has been foreshadowed as his ultimate struggle since the beginning, since he let out a glimpse of his inner demon that night at the arena, and by doing that caused Ben’s death.

Let’s be honest, this movie aged very VERY well. Even the parts that became memes. First we loved to hate it. Now we simply love it. We were blind!
