Any rain is welcomed. Also, I want to thank you guys. My mother passed away back on February 10th due to the side effects of a stroke. Your content has helped me alot.

This week on Vice Grip Garage a fella goes out to Montana to help the Welkers with their goin to town rig
  • Guys retired mechanic you have to replace that exhaust cam timing solenoid and the Colorado engine family from 04 to 06 all had problems with the pcv valve stopping up and also were notorious for valve seats popping out and causing intermittent misfires but the main thing is out of at least sixty of those solionids not one could be fixed by cleaning the springs
  • So for me, depending on how good of condition the rest of the truck is, I would either rebuild it, or get a crate motor for it and let it go another 150k miles. Its cheaper to buy a new motor than it is to buy a new/ used truck like that.
  • @SaltyTubers
Time for Dad to get a new truck! Like me, we only have so many trips down the road left, would be good to make the most of it. Maybe one of those "we surprised Dad with a new truck" videos!
  • @tehbald
Before condemning it I’d pull the valve cover and verify both cams are timed correctly. If your cam timing is off it can make a ton of crankcase pressure. That thing should have nylon chain guide and tensioners. Definitely more than enough years on them to be bad. If you replace everything before pistons contact the valves you might get a couple more years out of it pretty cheap. Good luck!🍀
  • Those five finger whatchamacallits look like they would make awesome backscratchers.😊
  • I don’t know how many times over the years I’ve been thwarted when two separate and not connected things break down at the same time. Makes diagnosis a real pain. Lol
  • @Tigerfan50
Glad to hear you received that much needed rain. 👍
  • @UltraMagaFan2
Seeing the headers outside in these videos makes them look short. But when they pull them into the shop that really puts into perspective how massively wide they are. It's pretty trippy.

Cummins 4BT in the Colorado! Call it the Cuvy (pronounced like covey). 😂
  • Welcome to have some of our rain from the UK! 218mm since April, doesn't seem to stop and now can't harvest our barley!
  • @digger5858
Great video guys, so glad you got a little rain, still praying that you get a little more. So sorry about your truck Mr Welker, good luck with it!!!!
  • @davel2223
Let's put a cozy little 4.3 liter V6 in that little truck then you'll really have a runner.
  • I went the junk yard route with my pickup. It lasted about thirty days. Ended up rebuilding the original motor.
  • @businjay
Love you guys as always. glad to see your getting some rain. I saw may wes products on another channel and told my dad he had to buy the delrin cutting edge for his scraper. he's been thrilled with it so far. he wanted it to not chip the concrete and first thing I Thought of was may wes even tho I was a fleet manager for national western stock show for years. May wes was better and more customizable than my normal cutting edge suppliers. good ppl. we gave the measurements and what showed up was perfect. Good guys over there at may wes and I wont Lie Welker Family. I love the buds.
  • @markreetz1001
I think you should look for a replacement engine. But it always seems like it's hard to find engines that interchange easily. Great that you got some rain!!
  • Good to see that someone came up with an idea to save on wear. The factory probably had an idea but they want you buy new.

I would recommend getting a 3.7L Inline 5 cert rebuilt that are in those colorado for roughly 3K maybe lil more online. I got a cert rebuilt for around that for my 08 colorado LT. Excellent fuel economy for a truck at up to 26 mpg highway and i typically avg around 18.5-20 mpg with city highway combined while having decent power and torque. It has 242 Hp and 242 ft lb torq which is better than the 4.3L v6 in the blazer which is 190 hp and 250 torque. I have had my colorado for 13 yrs and it has treated me great.
