In 2 years Oasis released 2 of the most iconic British albums ever Definitely Maybe and Morning Glory, broke a world record on Knebworth and basically became The Beatles of the 90s. This video essay is about how Liam and Noel Gallagher made that happen and their history. Enjoy! Also please don't put your life in the hands of a rock and roll band lol

The Beatles were influential, Oasis were influenced.

I told my ex wife to not look back in anger and she slapped me and called me a “child murderer” 🙄🙄

The Verve could use a spotlight, their music isn’t appreciated enough

Hey Krysis! I would like to say that your videos made me less of an alcoholic and i don't beat my kids as often

They sold 10 million records in the US. Morning Glory peaked at #4, Be Here Now at #2 & Dig Out Your Soul at #5 on The Billboard 200. First 3 albums went Platinum too. Definitely a decent enough impact.

I think the beatle of the 90s should be radiohead, i mean apart from their 1st album, the second(the bends) and the third(ok computer) are a hugh step up from their music production

Amazing video and the midi versions of the songs are amazing as well

Hi, great video, what was the gig at the end with Liam sitting down while Noel sings the outro from Slideaway ?

Definitely Maybe is the GOAT and Masterplan is the most epic B-sides album ever put together. I'm not sure an Oasis reunion would be the same, but I hope they can make up as brothers at least. Life's too short to hate. Don't look back in anger boys.

I’ve been saying this for about 30 years! Here in the UK (& Ireland) they were literally the new Beatles, still to this day to many people in this part of the world they are bigger than The Beatles, Liam is selling out Knebworth on his own without Noel 🤟🇬🇧🎸🎵

90s bands that could be good to cover here: Smashing Pumpkins, Stone Temple Pilots, Garbage.

hey man loved your blur and sopranos vid, you should do arctic monkeys at least talking about their early days before the album AM
  • Owen Morris credited a lot of managing to capture their live sound in the mix to, also 'brickwalling,' a technique used to make the record come on the jukebox loud as f@¢k, but also to "turning Noel down in the mix, & turning Bonehead up." And I gotta agree. The definitive live sound of Oasis - strictly for me, of course - is Earl's Court '95... And Bonehead can be heard, loud & proud, in the mix... With Guigsy even being turned up a bit.

Oasis for me are the greatest band, they took 2 things, and made it into 1 excellent sound, they took passion for music, and a working class life, and made it into definitely maybe, if you don’t understand the lyrics, then it wasn’t written for you, the music to me is as relatable as it gets for the reason that it’s from the working class people of England to the working class people England

I really enjoyed their final album, Dig Out Your Soul. Best album since Morning Glory
