At its core, the story of The Hunger Games is about the power of one person to change the world.

Set in the future remnants of the USA in a new nation called Panem, one male and one female "tribute" between the ages of 11 and 18 from each of Panem's twelve districts is forced to participate in an annual competition called the Hunger Games, which is broadcast live throughout the country for the entertainment of the Capitol's wealthy residents.

Now, bestselling author Suzanne Collins and the world of The Hunger Games return in her latest addition to the series: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.

This was the scene when Katniss really fell in love with Peeta.

"What about you?" "Nobody needs me." "I do. I need you" I always stop the movie after this scene, because I know what's coming.

You can really see Katniss feeling uneasy about how much she doesn’t want to kill these people and how much she wishes they didn’t have to kill her…it’s just such an unbelievably sad and scary situation. She sees Joana as a person, not just a threat. They’re all people she can connect to. But they are all also threats.

Joanna: She won like 4 years (oh wait shit that was me) 5 years ago The acting of this little moment and realisation is so subtle and brilliant

Ugh I can’t get over these two! Josh Hutcherson is so perfect as Peeta. Even though a lot of stuff about their relationship from the books didn’t make it to the screen, you can still feel how strongly her feelings for him grew throughout Catching Fire and how much she was grieving his absence in Mockingjay.

It's still shocking to me that this didn't get a Best Kiss nomination at the Movie Awards in 2014--let alone that it didn't win either. At least it won the award at Teen Choice that summer though. I love the way it was written in the book too.

I remember right after this movie came out, a lot of people (and reviewers) thought this was fake, that Katniss was acting for the cameras again. They assumed she really loved Gale, since he wasn't the boyfriend being pushed on her by Snow. Seems hard to believe now. In reality of course, these Games are when she finally convinced Snow she was in love with Peeta, which is why he used Peeta so extensively to hurt her later.

Como é possível eu ter assistido toda a saga mais de 100 vezes e ainda sim chorar
  • In the book I think he also implied the baby too since the viewers think she's pregnant.

Ya know, Peeta tried to tell Katniss here there was a greater plan at work, but she just couldnt read between the lines.
