  • i think horror mods should try to build up an uneasy atmosphere that would be interesting

What minecraft needs is something vaguely similar to Phasmophobia. You literally SEE what the monster is in the pictures before you even download most of these dweller clones, they don't build tension and aren't scary, and ruin any kind of imagination. After all, the scariest monster is the one you make up in your own mind. Modders should make a HAUNTING instead of a singular mob. Add invisible mobs that can rarely do shit or rarely eyes in the dark, freezing breath, etc. Give the impression of an evil presence instead of a normal physical enemy that can be fought with normal means.

"I made Minecraft genuinely horrifying!!!" Zoom out to see 5000 clones of this exact video.

"WaO a NeW dWeLlEr!!!111!!!1!!!!111" literally just the cave dweller but red, or with goat horns, or with green skin, or it crawls, or it's santa, furred, black, pruple... They're all the same, tbh. Exexpt maybe the ones that actually have something new/unique to them, then that's taken and now it's boring again. We need something new that has some true love put into it.

As Alfred Hitchcock once said “Fear is like a gun, there’s no tension when the shot is fired, but when the finger is on the trigger.”

The thing that really stuck out to me in this Modpack was the world itself. It genuinely felt unnerving, like you've entered a place not for you. It feels vaguely sinister, while somehow also feeling alive, but it almost feels like the world itself has given up on life. Basically, 10/10 world generation and shaders, 6/10 creatures.

Ah yes. Cave dwellers we need a different monster.

Horror mods should explore different fears, instead of just adding a scary monster. The scariest thing is to become insane. A sanity mod exists and it's actually horrifying
  • If anyone needs a reference of the worst Minecraft horror experience look no farther than The Silence - annoying gimmick where playing the game gets you targeted nonstop - generic spooky-guy-chases-you focused mod - jpeg jumpscares that take up your entire screen every few seconds
  • "I'm just gonna take him on a house tour" "Not right now man" I love how Rod and Herobrine are just buds throughout this lmao
  • @anonymousman34
fun fact if you think yourself a warrior sent to fight the daemons it turns the game from scary to slapstick real fast

First of all, the editing was really well done, especially in the intro. I need to learn how to do that lol. I watched the whole video, and you probably did the best job of making Minecraft actually scary from what I've seen. Having less mods is definitely scarier because you don't get jumped every couple seconds. I am glad to see TOWW included in the video. I am also happy to see you not actually get jumped by the real one, the hallucinations definitely were too frequent though. You actually were able to avoid him which is the entire point of the mod so thank you for that. I am curious which version of the mod you were playing. The video was really good man. Hope you get to 10k soon. If I think of any other good mods to include, I will let you know. But still make sure to keep the horror mods down. You don't want too many.

Bruh really just gave herobrine a tour of his house like he's looking to sell

something that replicates the sort of lonely foggy beta atmosphere, just like a "Everything looks fine but something is kind of off here" vibe mixed with monsters that will rarely if ever do enough damage to kill you, a monster that fucks with you so rarely that you aren't sure when it's that or if it will be there is scarier than something you know when will be there, know what it looks like, know what it acts like, something you don't know see or understand is spookier than something you can identify.
  • I wish we had more stalker enemies, theyll watch and watch for long periods of time, you'll hear them before you see them, and you can't have a confrontation because thats a death wish. Run like hell because you can't fight and you can't hide. Id also love something that feels home invasive escque. Mainly though, just being stalked and having an atmosphere building up, no junpscares or random PNGs popping up on screen
  • @JacobWassup
3:10 nah bro I think you got stuck in the berserk eclipse :skull:
  • The thing is with every mod like this is the fact you know exactly what's after you there's no suspense, they focus on the entity being "scary" instead of focusing on what actually makes horror scary, its exactly like cheap jump scares, there's no suspense or fear of being prey, that's what makes predator's in the real world scary too, you have no clue what is stalking you and they try to stay hidden, they arent just up in your face instantly the second they see you, the intelligence behind them makes them scary too, they strategize and how the world around them effects an attack and how they can use that to an advantage, no mods really have that essence of primal fear or unease of being hunted.

Ever since the first dweller came out, I haven’t seen a single normal Minecraft video
