Welcome to Trail Therapy! In this video we begin the overloading build on my 2023 GMC Canyon AT4 with wheels and tires. I went with the Method Race Wheels 703, featuring their bead grip technology, in a 17x9 -12. paired with Nitto Ridge Grapplers in 285/75/R17, or 34 inches. It definitely didn't go as planned and I had to do a lot of trimming. Next up, rock sliders / running boards, and a lift kit. Subscribe to follow along for the build!

I gotta say bro for a small channel you got some high quality videos. Even better than some of the bigger channels out there with thousands of subscribers. Definitely earned my subscription and can’t wait to see the rest of the build!

That is a great looking wheel set up! Honestly, that’s how the AT4 should have come from factory!💯

Awesome video. Also have an At4 but in solar flare (not my first choice of colour but the price was right) and wanted to build it up as well. YouTube is full of Tacoma builds so it’s great to see a GMC overland vehicle coming to life, thanks for doing this 🍻

The new wheels/tires added exactly 1 inch of ground clearance. So the rear differential is now 10.5 inches. I forgot to put that in the video.

GMC killed it with this design of the canyon.. For somebody that has 313 subs I’ve very impressed with sound and video editing and the way you shot the video.. I have no doubt you’ll have get 1000 subs fast lol great video

Loved the video. I am getting a '24 at4 myself, and have been struggling to find other people who have the same truck and want to do the same things with it that I want to. I also want to turn mine into an overlanding rig, and I am so glad I finally found someone with the same passions. Great video 👍

The blue on those black wheels looks insane. Can't wait to see another video on this.

You need an icon vehicle dynamics uca and coilover kit like the one done for sema I would have used a 18 mm off set wheel in 35’s no problem.

I bought a 2024 Colorado ZR2 mid March, and am planning on putting 285/75/17's on it using the OEM wheels and offset (to prevent rubbing). Seeing other guys have issues with rubbing, I'm convinced that keeping the OEM offset is key to fitting larger tires without issue. I think that with a little tweaking of the area where the spare is (slotting the tire heat shield mounting holes and insulating it, wrapping the exhaust there with Thermo-Tec, and slotting the hole on the rear tire stabilizer bracket), I can even fit the larger tire under there. It's only an extra 1/2" in tire radius for a ZR2.

I went method 305s 18x9 +20 with 275/70 and I felt like that was the perfect look for me! Excited to follow this build

I’ve got the same truck. Put 17inch methods with 0 offset with 33s. No rub . Waiting for a good 4-6 inch lift kit to come out to run 35s

I guess I don't understand the hate. I've used DT for years. Always been great, and that's at multiple locations across 3 different states. I just use offroad/adventure build shops for actual modifications. Love this vid. I've been looking at the ZR2 which comes with 285 70s, and I would go up one size like your 285 75s.
  • Great video. Subscribed. I have the Trailboss. Looking forward to more videos.

you think 33's would fit on a stock AT4? From what it looks like the 20" factory wheel option comes with a 275/60R20 tire that is about 33" so I figure something like a 285/70R17 would fit great

My titan pro4x is the first truck I've put rims and tires that programed itself as well
  • Same experience with Discount Tire. I’ve stopped using them all together. Too many negative experiences and excuses.

Awesome video. I've been in the process of doing the same thing with a 2018 canyon for overland exploring. With a bed tent. First trip is to colorado in May
