I bought a 50 item customer Amazon customer returns box from eBay.
Was it pure Junk? Was it worth it? Did I get a bargain? and it is possible to make any money with it?

Let's see what items are inside, and if we can repair anything that's broken.

I thought this would be an interesting and quite fun video as I'd come across things that I wouldn't normally buy.

  • The idea of buying one of these boxes is tempting, but my house is already full of junk and I just know I wouldn't be able to bring myself to bin any of it, so I'd just end up with more junk to store forever.

Instead of mystery box it should be called headphone assortment with some mystery items. Haha

I'd say 90+% of Amazon returns are not broken. If you're a Prime subscriber it's a no-brainer to buy stuff to try and if you don't like it it's very easy to return. As soon as you've lodged it with the return carrier they give your refund. This box of stuff is practically 99% useless to anyone, I guess sometimes one could score something useful from one of these boxes but you'd have to buy half a dozen boxes of rubbish first.

I'm a new sub and I have to say your content is fantastic, you don't turn a repair into miniseries. You take the thing apart, diagnose the problem, get the parts you need, fix the issue and that's that. I know it probably takes a lot of time from start to finish especially when you have to wait for parts, but it's great to see the issue resolved in one video, rather than several over a number of weeks.

What you can do to the plastic to reinforce it, without adding too much bulk, is take some thin gauze roll, or those thin gauze pads/squares, and use them and superglue like laying up sheets of fibreglass and resin to cover the break. The non-woven gauze gives it structural strength while giving the super glue polymer a excellent structure to bond to.

So basically you have bought the contents of my kitchen bottom drawer πŸ˜‚

You got your Christmas shopping ready for kids and adults to enjoy.
  • For broken bits of plastic like the dvd player mech, hot staples work a treat as they have great strength once cooled.

From the videos of returns items I've watched by you/ Vince etc it's amazing how many items leave factory's with leads not plugged in properly, it's astonishing. You're almost guaranteed to have a few with every returns box.. Another fantastic video from you again... πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

After it was shown Amazon were sending so much waste to landfill, this is encouraging. Found your channel via YT suggestion: Subbed!
  • @Popeyes66
I reckon that if I ordered a similar box from evilbay, they would send me a box containing 50 Whoopee Cushions, all with punctures πŸ€”
  • These make great videos. My Mate Vince would be proud to see you attempting them.
  • @Mymatevince

Just discovered your channel. I have been watching Vince for a long time. Cool repairs. On the last saturday of each month I do the same stuff in a repaircafe.

I'm also a fan of Vince, and nice to have discovered your channel recently. Ex man of Blyth here, now living in Texas, so your accent is refreshing to hear on top of the great content! Continued Good Luck with the channel! ----Mike

A similar reverse camera for my last car looked like that. It had a small loop of wire you cut to flip the video. It all depended on where you mounted it. I had 4... reverse, off both mirrors for lane changes and 1 that came on when I was under 3?mph off the front bumper for watching the curb.

23:00 I have found that most of the time when a disc catches, it is the fault of the pickup assembly being misaligned due to one of the rubber dampeners not being installed correctly, I think that the disc is supposed to be closer to the control panel in this case.
But having the foresight to have a rotary tool and grinding bit ready was brilliant, made the fix much easier, kudos.
  • @andymouse
I'm a fan of Vince too have been for a while and I'm glad I found your channel as well. Love the look of the stone wall behind the box it looks legit, not sure I have the stones to buy a mystery box. Nice one....cheers.
  • I enjoy mystery. My cat enjoys boxes. Put the two together and you have a video that I watch with my cat.
