My Dad passed away 4 weeks ago. He was an Air Force fighter pilot and a Vietnam Vet, who served two tours in Vietnam, and taught many other pilots. I've been sorting through the memorabilia he left behind, and there are so many things that show very clearly just how tight the bond is between Brothers in Arms. This movie was a great illustration of that as well. To all the Vets out there, know that your sacrifice is appreciated, more than you will ever know. And to all of the spouses and families, without your sacrifice, our Vets could not do their jobs half as well. Thank you. High Flight By John Gillespie Magee, Jr. Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth, And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings; Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun-split clouds - and done a hundred things You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air. "Up, up the long delirious burning blue I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace, where never lark, or even eagle, flew; and, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of God.

This song doesn't only fit the 12 Horse Soldiers but anyone who's been deployed. It shows a bond between all fighting men.

My husband and I are veterans and now our kids are serving, it really does keep going on and on.
  • Im 17 and I have had a dream since i was 5 to serve my country, yea the branches in which i would serve have changed since but ive settled for the marines, I dont have a reason why, its not just to protect, or to be cool. Its like a little voice in the back of my head saying join and become of higher people. I'll be signing up on my birthday.

Just saw the movie 12 Strong. Amazing boots-on-ground film, finely acted (especially by Hemsworth), and this song, timed with the ending montage, was perfect. Love it already.

Hardest thing I have ever done, was pack and leave for Iraq in 2008. Kissing my kids bye. Daughter was 7 and son was 5. My daughter asked me "why do you have to fight a war?". I told her its was daddies do so you can be safe at home. I was lucky, I came home. So many didnt. ....................I would go back without question.
  • The words in this song is solid! For anyone who has actually deployed to a combat zone, the words means a lot because we had each other and that was it. We had our families at home but we kept going

A soldier does not fight for what's in front of him but what's behind him. I salute every soldier for their services be it from any country 🇮🇳

even i am not an American, but i am so thankful of them for making this world a safe place to live, love and respect to all.
  • This song is so true to my heart I'm a proud woman army combat vet now battling stage 4 brain cancer I stand before our flag with pride and honor 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
  • Insanely good movie. Salute to all those who serve, but especially to US military.
  • This makes me cry because my uncle was a spec ops and was assigned to be shipped out a mont after 9/11 he was at a village the village was attacked and completely destroyed after the attack was over no one survived the attack next day I got a folded flag ( I was at my aunts house when I got the flag )
  • This song shows that life throws crap at you when you least expect it and it hurts mentally and physically but you have the choice to move on despite the pain and despite discomfort and that's what separates you from the rest
  • @21plz
One of the best movies I've ever watched. 💪🏻
  • Respect for all the men who served we will win this fight it don’t matter if there only a few of us left red white and blue forever

A war ended with the song is the most beautiful and peaceful.❤️

  • “That's the kind of bond that you can't break.” It's true for all soldiers no matter where they are, basic training or on deployment. When you're in the military, you form a kind of brotherhood that nothing or nobody can't break.
