Published 2017-09-15
I am demonstrating how to cut down bigger trees with a clearing saw. This is not what you would use this tool for but sometimes it is convenient.

I just bought the Echo SRM 410U to clear out some overgrown areas on my property. VERY capable tool. I'd reach for the chainsaw for what you just did, but it goes to show what these things are capable of, and you definitely have the use of it mastered. Cool demo.
  • Very nicely done. .. I just love your demonstrations, and how you show us the good and the bad. .. I love your channel. And I love seeing your family! Thank you for sharing.

I had a model older than this one that I love. My sister has difficulty with tools that are too heavy and she actually loved mine and found it easy to use youtube.com/post/Ugkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR… . This is a newer model but was even lighter which she really appreciates. She enjoys it and I no longer have to go to her house to trim as she can handle it fine. Haven't used it enough to comment on the battery life but lithium batteries last longer than the old style. Being cordless makes it easy to trim the far edges of the property. The entire yard can be trimmed with one charged battery.
  • That was interesting and a little scary. Thanks for the demonstration and the warnings! You and your brother are truly woodcutting pros.

This was an excellent tutorial on using this to cut down trees! Thank you!

Very glad you gave repeated cautions in this video. Yes very dangerous but in a dire dire situation it is good to know the skills. Thank you nice job.

Thanks for posting, I've had my eyes on these for years I think I may pick one up. Having the reach to get into what I call Bach bush would be a blessing.
  • @RSLtreecare
Very interesting. I have used a brush cutter for cleaning over grown shrubs, pathways, but not for feeling. This looks impressive.
  • @MadMetalShop
That thing is a beast! I sure could use one of those! 😮

I enjoy watching you with the clearing saw, I have a Shindiawa S270 with a Scarlett 22 tooth blade and does it do a bang up job, anything 4 inch or smaller goes fast. I'm going to buy a purpose built clearing saw one of these days but for now it works
  • thanks for reminding me of this tool i have a lot os small saplings to cut out of my pastures most are around 1-2 inches in diameter it will save a lot of bending with the chainsaw and the reach will help me avoid the thorny branches

Cool Video, I've cut down smaller trees with a weed whacker, but I've also cut up an already down tree, about that same size with the FS 90R Weed Whacker, it's amazing the things you can do with them.
  • @JR-gc8el
Something Im glad I learned about. I didn't even know they had that kind of saw out there. Thank you for that video.
