  • This is one of the greatest songs of any genre, ever. Without even watching the video, just listening to it paints a movie in your mind. Creative genius
  • @Arverni_Ursi
Dude, the goosebumps when he says " he's name was... he was you... Damn... " everytime !

Hey dad, just want to say that you’re amazing. My dad has never tried to relate to me on this level. Ever. I have young children now and I aspire to be just like you. May not be your thing but making yourself available means everything. Your son is very lucky to have you. The world needs way more dads like you. Thank you.
  • My dad died when i was 13, so seeing this makes me happy! You guys seem to have such a good time together listening to music and talking about it. Cherish it!!! Its a beautiful thing!
  • @engi800
if you listen closely the first verse stan is coherent and on speaks on beat, the second verse stan starts to speak off beat and by the third verse stan is completely off beat and sporadic- a masterpiece.

This was one of the first songs to really address serious mental health issues at a time people were STILL embarrassed by them. It's such a real story and speaks to so many people that it's helped to open the door making mental health a more discussed topic.

That moment at 9:24 is exactly why people show others the songs they grew up with. Him looking at his dad after the "ohhh boy.." comment with a smirk on his face shows you how much he enjoys seeing his father really feel this song. That's so precious. Legendary song, super cool reaction!

Dad almost cried and thats a testament to how amazingly this story is played out. It's visual even without the video. Amazing writing.

Did you or your dad notice that after Eminem says damn, when he realises it was Stan, the lighting flashes and you see Stan looking at him through the window. I love that added element almost like he's still obessed with him even after death.
  • I know your dad would love to hear Mockingbird, it's the perfect next step in his discography concerning in terms of the progression in this Slim/Em story. You see the reality of his domestic situation behind the exaggerated accounts, and just how tragic, complicated and in ways beautiful it really is. He truly loves his children in spite of his fractured relationship, and wants them to make it through this messy stage in their early lives to become good people, but Eminem has to be a paternal figure from the sidelines, and the song is in many ways showing his hopes and his grief felt during the first two albums, the tragedy he can't express except through Slim.

This is now OUR dad. What a legend of a human being. Love the videos fellas. Please keep it up 👍

Loved this reaction. BTW, Dido’s name is pronounced Dye-dough. This refrain for this song actually comes from the beginning of a love song of hers called Thank You.
  • @maciejos39
This song is a masterpiece, but your dad is a real treasure, how he feels, experiences songs, shows how sensitive he is. I wish you both a lot of happiness and good health. Keep doing it!
  • Hey there dad...as a listener from your musical era with kids of my own, I want to express my ultimate admiration for you and your thoughtful responses to this song.
  • Forgetting the fact I'm a huge Em fan.....I just think it's really cool the relationship you seem to have with your Dad. That's awesome for both you!!
  • @iamdihan
Stan was an absolute masterpiece. The video was great too to help visualise the story, I had that on repeat for the entire year when it came out.
  • @Mondaygnz
Omg, did he just say, “he’s referencing ‘Kim’”? You and your dad are such a beautiful example of what’s possible with investing time in conversing with others.
  • Your dad def needs to get to know another side of Eminem, so I'd love to see some 'Mockingbird' and 'When I'm Gone' reactions ❤️‍🔥 Also, maybe, 'The Way I Am' :) Thank you
  • @stacyfortier4993
I live Dido as well, this song was her original and Eminem did an excellent job making his own verses to it. Both excellent artists.
