Your video and explanation is the BEST! Just bought a salt water system chlorinator and I’m running my 24 hour pump run now after adding the salt. Thanks 4 ur time and this video. We've had same pool 4 4 yrs. Never been easy to maintain water and the original pump is undersized plus inadequate. We bought the 3000gpm sand filter and pump and been studying up on the salt water system. U certainly helped me understand it much better and I look forward to doing away with chemicals. This will also b a great test as we r looking next yr to the intex 16x32x52inch,almost ordered it 2day,though choosing to wait till next season as ground prep all over again will take more time ugh, but so neccasary and important. Thanks again, appreciate it much.

Good idea on rinsing the outside of the pool to take out the salt. I could've used that information years ago when I did not do that and all the metal on my pool rusted. My pool only lasted me 1 year, before I had to get rid of it. I got me an all plastic one. I will be rinsing everything to wash the salt off after each use. Thank you.

Hey there, Your detail on this video will help many people in 2024. Just bought the 12x24 rectangle ultra intex pool and their instructions skips some steps and you didn't. This really helped me. I was hoping these new systems would tell me the salt levels but nope had to go buy the same strips you have. 🏊‍♀And ny the way, the 2024 pumps you don't have to wait for a "working" button for the chlorinator. They have a chlorinated button now that works together with pump button.

Hey, one quick note. If you set your salt system to run on boost, than your pump MUST be on FP (free pump) to run 24/7. If your pump is set to 8 hours and you put the salt system on boost, boost is actually the number of hours you set times 4. So if you set salt system to run 4 hours, it will run 16 hours on boost mode. In that case pump must be on FP, if it’s not, the pump will shut down after 8 hours, but the salt system will continue working and that way it will overheat and damage without pump pushing water through the cells (salt plates).

Once you’ve got your salt and other levels balanced having a saltwater pool is completely worth the initial expense and hassle!
