Servis Sat 7 Shredder Restoration Part 1 Disassembly, Damage Assessment & Recovery

The first part of two videos of the restoration of the 1960s/1970 Servis Sat 7 shredder following the epic drive line failure of 2020:    • Epic PTO Drive Line Failure 1941 Cate...

The ripple effect of the damage went throughout the whole mower power train. Purchased at auction the Sat 7 mower was supposed to be a good match to my 1941 Caterpillar D2 tractor. The 2020 field test was to prove that but events didn't go to plan. This video covers the blade disassembly, damage assessment and finally recovery. The recovery part was hindered by 2020-2021 pandemic and supply chain issues. Fortunately by spring 2022 these were vanquished. No sponsorship is provided by the vendors for the products mentioned in this video.

Part 2 will pick up where this video left off and return to the field.

I just purchased an in good shape "Service Sat 5" (its about 5 feet wide so I suspect that is the "5" in the model number(?). ). Anyway, it does not have a slip clutch, the Seller told me it has a sheer pin like a boat propeller. Should it have a slip clutch and do you think it was removed at some point? What RPM do you spin your Sat 7 at? Thank you!
